Medical standard
 Infant mortality rate- Infant mortality rate is the number of death
of infants below 1 year of age, expressed as a rate per 1000 live
births in a year.
 Life expectancy – “Life expectancy at birth” actually refers to the
average number of years a new born baby is expected to live.

Unemployment
 People who are willing to work at the existing wage rate but do not
get jobs are considered as unemployed.
 Seasonal unemployment happens when people are not able to find
jobs during some months of the year.

 Disguised unemployment exists when part of the labour force is

either left without work or is working in a redundant manner such
that worker productivity is essentially zero. It is unemployment
that does not affect aggregate output.

 Educated unemployment is when a person is educated and is not

able to find a suitable job for himself.
