The VMO of the university and the college and the Core Values

The vision –mission of Misamis University is one of the vital information for each student upon
enrolling in this Institution. Its Vision aims to be the leading school not just in academic but also in extra-
curricular as well as to mold students to be a good citizen of the Philippines. In which this vision inspires
every student and every teachers to their best in teaching the students and for the students is to their best
in doing their task and loving their selected program. On the other hand the Mission of Misamis
Unversity “It is committed to the development of the whole person who is God-fearing, principled,
socially responsible, service-oriented, environmentally concerned and is competent to meet global
challenges”. This mission is very important because the Misamis University mold their student not just
mentally but as a whole being. First they teach student or guide their student to be God-fearing , by
practicing the value of respect with one another , giving kindness , showing mercy and loving one another
is a sign that Misamis University is a great institution not just by learning but also to strengthen the faith
of each student. Second they teach guide student to be principled , which means they teach student to
stand in what they believe , to speak with conviction as well as to share their ideas fearlessly, Third , they
mold student to be socially responsible and service oriented, this means student in Misamis University is
guided by the school policies, for them to be responsible , and also the Misamis University mold students
to be a good leader as well as to be a good follower . And last the Misamis University guide student to be
environmentally-concerned and to competent to meet global Challenges, indeed this institution is a great
University that allow students to grow for who they are with a loving and kindness heart towards the
nature and to be strong in any challenges in life

The Misamis University Objectives which is guided by this vision/mission, Misamis University is
dedicated to the pursuit and attainment of the following. First Develop and maintain quality academic
programs and Foster an academic community that promotes unity, creativity, entrepreneurial spirit,
environmental concern, appreciation and pride in our national history and cultural heritage, which
means that Misamis University offers a wide circle of learning from which student not just can learn one
idea but more ideas , and also they promotes unity from which student practice the value of teamwork
and coordination . And also creativity fro which student may able to share their unique talents. Second
this institution conduct researches that support effective instruction and are responsive to the needs of
the community and society ,Build an maintain strong partnership with the community, giving emphasis
to extension programs and the delivery of quality health care services and Provide accessible education
for all. This means that Misamis University is also concern to its national history by conducting
researches with regards to the community and society improvement. It also offers education that can be
accessible to all students .

Misamis University is indeed a great institution for learning, for molding and for guiding
students in choosing their career paths. And I am so lucky to be one of the students of the
MIisamis University. As a student knowing and applying the VMO and core values of the
Misamis University is a privilege to experience the meaning of not just a student who dreams of
success but also how to be a true to myself and to learn how to be humble at all times . Since
Misamis University upholding the principle of God – centered institution, it has help me to
strengthen my faith to put God as the center especially during exam week or even in a regular
days. Through the VMO and core values of the Misamis University it has teach me not just the
word of respect but the true value of the word respect , being in a university where diversity of
culture is shared and shown it has teach me to understand not to be judgmental but appreciate
each one.

Now As a 3rd year Management Accounting student the VMO and core values of the
Misamis University has always been keep in my heart and I always appreciated its importance.
In communicating with other students ,the institution has teach me to be kind, to openly share
my ideas and not to be selfish. To help other student is one of its lesson, helping them to succeed
by praying for them and inspiring them not by cheating . The 4 core values excellence, integrity,
honesty and loyalty molded me to be a good and hardworking student and a good citizen in my
baranggay. The value of excellence has taught me to do task to the best that I can, to help
someone struggling by sharing my knowledge not my answers. The value of honesty has taught
me to do what is right and to teach what is right. The value of Integrity and loyalty help me how
to be trustworthy, consistent in telling the truth and to be a role model inside and outside the
campus.

Therefore Misamis University VMO serves an eye opener not for its student only but to those
who really don’t know this institution , that it offers services beyond its limit . Misamis University is
indeed one of the best University of the Mindanao that guide and mold student to the best that they
can . And also teach student to be more respectful , to be humble , and not to be ignorant and
judgemental. Without this VMO probably Misamis University may not stand for more years that is why a
part from its success was the vision-mission –objectives of the institution.
 How are you going to exemplify honesty and integrity outside the school?

As a student of Misamis University, Everybody have their comfort zone where they could
stay without worries about theirselves and things they have. Where they feel safe when people
around are doing what is right and not doing what is easy. According to John Bytheway, if you
are emotionally honest, you should mean what you say but also mean what you do. Being a
student, I also have financial conflict and having not enough things to have in my studies. But
even once in my life, I don't even think to take advantage with people around me and just do
things easy while grinding others heart. Morality matters in me, how to behave in a proper way
and doing always things right with truthness. Integrity is telling myself the truth. And honesty is
telling the truth to other people. Therefore, in practicing honesty and integrity, I must have a
moral courage and making my actions right consistently with the knowledge of right and wrong.
Integrity is the behaviour with truthness of self even others not seeing it. And honesty will
appear to other people naturally from the flows of integrity.

As a college student inspired and molded by the core values of Misamis University, has
made me to be confidentially face challenges and be brave with all my upcoming trials. And
always hopes for my unending success though failures may arise but Misamis University has
already shaped me to be a strong woman with a good heart.
