Ans the question No:01

Trauma is one of the most important themes of this story. “Her apartment Was full of colors” but
one corner of this apartment had gray color which means She carried sorrow, emotion, upset for
another reason maybe her husband left her (Heti, p.1). She did not express her feelings. She
always kept it herself like a secret. Her friends always told her to move but She always ignored
it. “She always wanted to stay that tiny corner until she died” (Heti, p.2). Finally, the old woman
Had died. In our country, most of the people cannot express their feelings, and finally, they get
involved in suicide.

Ans the question No:02

In this story, the gray color means Darkness, War, Sorrow. The world has become darkness due
to war. The country has started war for its benefit. they don’t care about another country’s
people. The old woman became very upset and carried sorrow (Heti, p.1). On the other hand,
colors mean happiness. Colors inspire people to live and make them happy. Colors give the
people hope to survive. Green color indicates an advanced decision made by god because god
gives the grass green. Red or blue indicates color are created by human, for example, human
choose color on his own preference.

Ans the question No:03

There have a lot of similarities between this story and “when Mr. Pirzada came to dine”. In this
story, there are talking about the war. when the war had started, people were very upset and
taken away a lot of life. On the other hand, “when Mr. Pirzada came to dine” talks about the war
between India and Pakistan (Lahiri,p.32). In this war, Mr. Pirzada did not know about his family.
They survived or not. He became emotional for his family when he saw the news. On the other
hand, this story, an old woman became emotional when her husband left her.
