His point of view can relate in present by just opening our eyes, see what is going on, be aware of
happenings, that we should speak what’s in our mind, and stood by our own feet.

This famous literary piece was written due to the given social situation wherein he witnessed slavery,
cruelty, and brutality towards his beloved fellowmen. Rizal expresses his willingness to die for his
motherland and bids goodbye to his loved ones, his country, and to all people whom he cared for.

"my last farewell" by Jose Rizal is true truly an undying piece of art that moved and will continue to
move people's hearts and serve as an eye-opener to all.

In his poem, he freed those words just to express what he had felt during the time that he is in the cell
and knowing that it’s his last moment that he will devote his life to his country yet his cry-laden
agendum was not yet fulfilled.

In the last line, he repeats that "In Death, there is rest!" which means that he, being ready to be
executed, is happy to die in peace.

I believed that what our national hero did was extreme courage and bravery, He wrote his last goodbyes
without refrets. It was said in the poem that all he ever wanted was for his country to be a better place,
and yet, death is the reward for his efforts. It was somewhat devastating but I think that all things that
could have been done were done and Dr. Jose Rizal is an important piece that completes the puzzle of
our nation. He speaks still of his love and hopes that someday, his dreams for a better Philippines will
come true and that his works and purpose will be remembered even if he will be forgotten.
