Habitat
 Crocodile are semi-aquatic reptiles and
spend a lot of time swimming.
 They are cold blooded ,so they have to
come in land for warming up in the heat of
the day.
 Crocodile are found in tropical habitat of
Asia, Africa, Australia and the America.
 They normally live near lakes, rivers,
wetlands and even some saltwater region.

Sexual maturity : Male- 16 years, Female-12-14 years.
Egg Weight : 85-86 grams.
Egg Size : 3 inches * 2 inches.

Temperature : 30-33 ° C
Respiration Rate : 19-29 breaths/min depend on weather.
Heart Rate : 2-3 beats/min under water.
Difference Between Gharial
Gharial,, Alligator and Crocodile

Alligators- Mostly Broad Snout.
Crocodiles- Slender Snout
Biological Features(Vocalization)
Chirp: When about to hatch, the young make
a ‘peeping’ noise.
 Distress Call: A high pitched call by young
that allerts other crocodiles to imminent
danger.
 Threat Call: A hissing sound as a coughing
noise.
 Hatching Call: Emitted by females, when she
laid eggs in her nest.
 Bellowing: Male crocodile does, when
breeding groups aggregate together.
Commercial Value
Meat: Per kilogram of crocodile meat costs- 50 $ per kg(4000
Taka/kg)
Skin: Use as Handbags, shoes, luxury items, wallets, phone
cover. Costs- 9$/cm sq. (720 Taka/cm sq.)
Bone: Use as the raw materials for Ornament, for making
perfume.
Teeth: for ornamental purpose.
Claws: Use for key rings, Ornament.
Eggs: For Eating, Supplying in Hatchery .
Hatchlings: For supply in another farm, zoo. Costs- 1000-
1500 $ depend on Weight and Age and Breed
Tourism: Farm Can be a place for refreshment.

Crocodiles are the largest reptiles in Earth(Lolong-
20 Feet 3 inches,1075 kg )
 There is a species named Dwarf Crocodile,
Maximum length-6.2 feet
 Crocodiles really do produce tears (while eating
they shallow too much air, that touch lacrimal gland
and forces to tears)
 They can keep open their jaw underwater(have
extra valve in oropharynx and nasopharynx)
 Their ancestors were much bigger then them

 They have good night vision (Mostly nocturnal
hunters)
 Heart is sophisticated (can change the direction
of blood flow depend on requirements)
 They carry their hatchlings in their mouth .
 Baby Crocodiles can make sound inside from
their eggs.
 They can find their home from long distances.
 Crocodile do not have sweat glands, release heat
though their mouth.

 Salt water crocodile have the strongest bite (3700
pounds per sq inch.
 The Sex of hatchlings depend on ther temperature
of incubator/ nature (male- 34° C or higher, Female-
30°C or lower)
 Crocodiles are only non mammalian having tooth
sockets.
Ears are adapted for hearing both in air and
underwater.
Unlike other reptiles, Crocodile has a cerebral cortex
and a four chambered heart.
