Ahmedabad University is a private, non-profit university founded in 2009. Ahmedabad

University currently comprises four schools and two centres with opportunities for
interdisciplinary scholarship. It offers undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral programmes.

1. The Amrut Mody School of Management (AMSOM) offers the following

programmes:
 MBA, PhD, and other Programmes
 BBA and Integrated MBA Programmes
 BCom Programmes
2. School of Computer studies :
 MCA and Integrated MCA Programme
3. School of Engineering and Applied sciences :
 BTech, MTech, and PhD Programmes
4. School of Arts and Sciences :

The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) operates the Division of Biological and Life
Sciences and is in the process of establishing divisions in Humanities and Languages, Social
Sciences, and the Mathematical and Physical Sciences.

Since we are students of the AMSOM university, we are only aware on the working of it

The AMSOM university does not only increases the knowledge of the students but also
motivates them to exploit other areas of their interest such as; Dance, Music, Theatre, Fine
arts, Fitness, etc.
It enhances the individuality and develops an individual to an extent that the student becomes
capable of being independent.

The teaching style or the pedagogy is way different from the other universities that function
in the city. The faculty is professional and friendly in approach. Each room is equipped with
projectors. All the learning comes from the presentations and PDF's that the faculty prepares.
All the material is uploaded on a website named "Moodle". The university allots access to
this website through an account for each student. The result is also uploaded on that website.
For every subject, there is a "Course Owner" and then the "Co-Owners". The faculty who has
the authority to manage and handle the subject and the one who has designed this course is
known as the "Course Owner" and the other faculties who have specialisation over that
subject become the "Co-owners".
Talking about the attendance policy, for Bcom students it requires a minimum attendance
percentage of 50% in each subject and if any student fails to do so, they would have to go
through a “Grade drop system” where his/her’s grade will be degraded one step down, two
step down, correspondingly according to the number of lectures he/she has attended. The
student who fails to attend even 20% of the lectures of each subject, he/she will not be able to
appear their term exams. For BBA and iMBA, the minimum attendance percentage is 80%
and a similar procedure is followed for any defaults.

The university is very strict and firm regarding its rules and regulations. It does not
compromise on its values and policies. Every year, the university takes up new steps and tries
to improve the working of the university. Students are always asked for suggestions and
feedback forms so that they can work on it and improve the quality of the learning. The
university is flexible in providing courses to the students. The students have an alternative to
drop a particular course and take it up later in the succeeding semsters.

The university not only concentrates on imparting education but also provides various
entertaining programmes during the year. The events which are organised are controlled
solely by the students and the faculties support then but the students have full freedom of
making decisions. Events such as “Manchantra”, “Dimensions”, “Club Carnival”, “Youth
Fest” etc. not only gives students opportunities to showcase their talents but also motivates
them to take part in various events and helps them to free their mind from all the studies.
Now moving on to the various clubs which are “Dance”, “Photography”, “Music”,
“Literary”, “Quiz”, “Fitness” “Social service club”, “Fine arts” etc. also create a unique
learning to the students apart from the monotonous learning. The clubs are regulated by the
senior students of ahmedabad university and the other students of AU are always welcome to
participate to join any club which they like. In photography club students are taken on various
field trips nurturing their photography skills. In fine arts club students are taught how to
improvise and make more creative things with given equipments. In social service club the
students do various social service acts. And in the same way various exciting happen in other
different clubs.

The college also motivates students to participate in various sports fest where different kinds
of sports like football, cricket, badminton and kho-kho are played and competed against.

Now AU also has canteen for its students and all the staff. The food that canteen provides is
also quite hygienic and the prices are also reasonable. The allotted space is small but
nonetheless every part of the canteen has certain memories. Students have the best of
memories in the canteen. The people working in the canteen are also very friendly with
everyone.

Even in a city like Ahmedabad, the university tries to bring different concepts from the
foreign educational pedagogy and adapts to it as a whole. Bachelor programmes are not
underestimated but it also has its own standard that it gains from the faculty and the
pedagogy. It’s a pleasure for the students to graduate from a college of this kind.
