Identify some of the established recruitment techniques that apparently underlie Trilogy’s
unconventional approach to attracting talent.
Answer:
Based on the information in this case, the techniques that recruiters at Trilogy use to attract the
talent is college recruiting which is an outside source of candidates when recruiting applicants.
Recruiters pursue fresh graduates with an average age of 26 years even though they are least
experienced but fresh graduates are more passionate and zealous to work in competitive
environments to meet the need of the modern software technologies.
 They recruit them for attending college career fairs and for scouring computer science
departments with talented overachievers having ambition and entrepreneurial instincts.
 Top management conduct first round of interviews and then the top recruits with their
spouses are given 3 day preliminary visit to Austin.
 Trilogy also gives a lot of opportunities to new recruits and a friendly social work
environment and ensures the right of freedom.
These are a few unconventional approaches to attracting talent that Trilogy use for recruiting
applicants.

What particular elements of Trilogy’s culture most likely appeal to the kind of employees it
seeks? How does it convey those elements to job prospects?
Answer:
Trilogy recruit fresh college graduates with average age of 26 years having least experience of
the workplace. The various cultural elements that appeal to the talented and passionate
employees at trilogy are as follows:
 There is no dress code and employees make their own hours.
 Trilogy offers a friendly socializing environment to its employees at workplace.
 There is well stocked kitchen for the employees.
 Company sponsored the employees for different events and trips to places such as local
dance clubs and retreats in Las Vegas.
 Employees along with their significant others are often facilitated by company for tours
to various places such as Austin for 3 days visit.
→”New recruits are given a few weeks of intensive training which is just like boot camp as fast
stream of information is flooded to new recruiters which is specific to the organization so as to
make them more apt for the work as company is very harsh regarding to its commitment with the
work discipline.”

Would Trilogy be an appealing employer for you? Why? If not, what would it take for you to
accept a job offer from Trilogy?
Answer:
No, it would not be an appealing employer for me as i like to work in relaxing and comforting
zone not in such a fierce condition that triology offers to its new employees at the first place
during intensive training sessions that ensures harsh work discipline. They provide training
which is definitely productive for military personnel as that position demands such type of fierce
training but not much productive for running businesses. Responsibility is heavy for employees
and company fosters a “just do it now” type attitude so such an intense and unconventional firm
is not an appealing employer for me yet it gives a lot of other opportunities to its employees. If it
follows flexible policies of getting work done from employees and design their training
development and mentoring programs according to demand of business then I can accept a job
offer from Trilogy.

What suggestions would you make to Trilogy for improving its recruiting process?
Answer:
I would like to give the following suggestions to Trilogy for improving its recruiting process:
 A specific job description should be given by Trilogy that depicts what it wants from
employees and which position to be filled by new employee at Trilogy pertaining to
given job description.
 Trilogy should receive complete application forms from the candidates that evaluate their
academic background and other skills and abilities.
 Trilogy should perform initial screening interview or test to assess and evaluate the
expertise and mental abilities of all applicants and then selecting a few for further
recruiting process ensuring merit and unbiasedness. This will lead to improved
performance and increased productivity for the company as best candidates then would
be sorted out and given the effective training to make them apt for the work.
 Trilogy should also hire a HR manager who conducts the interviews of the candidates in
an effective way as he is more expert in recruiting and selecting the best candidates than
the top management since hiring the right persons for the jobs is very crucial as not only
the business growth depends on it but the whole existence of the company.
 Trilogy should keep improving training and talent development programs to beat the
competition of the modern era according to advancing technology to meet the need of the
hour.
