Outline
I. Introduction
    A. Hook – Most of us don’t trust ourselves enough when it comes to solving number problems on our
own.
    B. Discuss – Ever added the simplest numbers yet find yourself always typing away with a calculator
at hand? We’ve all been there.
    C. Discuss – Calculators prove to be the most effective and fastest way to solve math or science
problems, it’s no wonder we’d take advantage of it as much as we could.
    D. Thesis Statement - The struggles and hassles of __manually solving mathematical or scientific
problems__ can be lessened through __Scientific Calculators__.

II Body
  A. Discuss the social/personal problem further.
      1. Most SciCals can be quite expensive, ranging from ₱100 all the way up to ₱10k.
      2. Dependency. People may find themselves in situations where they won’t be able to perform even
the easiest calculations of all without the aid of a calculator.
      3. Not all scientific calculators include every function.
      4. Gives a dangerous advantage for a student to cheat even when prohibited.
  B. Discuss how your technology can create social/personal change.
       1. Mathematical or scientific equations that usually take more than 15 minutes by hand can now be
solved in less than 5 minutes by just pressing a few buttons.
       2. It comes in all shapes and sizes; you can most definitely carry it around with you whether at
work, school, or wherever else you go.
       3. Offers multiple built in functions unlike a regular calculator so that you no longer have to
remember formulas and such.
       4. Not only is it fast, it gives you the correct answer always. The only possible way for it to be
incorrect- is that you, yourself, entered an invalid equation. So always double check!
       5. Everyone says that even the littlest actions also include arithmetic. With a scientific calculator,
practically everything is logically solvable.
       6. In this day and age, a scientific calculator is a must. As humanity evolves, so will technology.
SciCals currently allows and will continue in allowing you to catch up to recent equational discoveries
even in the near future.
      7. While it’s true that you can access a free scientific calculator online, there’s one problem. It’s
online. Owning an honest to good physical calculator requires no internet connection, and you are free
to use it whenever you so please.
      8. A scientific calculator doesn’t use batteries or electricity as its power source, in fact- it’s solar
powered! Meaning it receives energy from the sun and uses it to function. In other words, you don’t
have to worry about running out of battery no matter how long you use it.
      9. Students are more likely to get encouraged solving an equation if the process wouldn’t be so
tedious, hence why the SciCal was invented in the first place. However, it isn’t just limited for students
to use, not by a long shot. Even regular office workers to full time architects still carry these around with
them.
      10. SciCal is not just a device. It is a technology device that is equipped with complex computing
capabilities. Also, it is a product system that is used to increase, maintain, or improve functional
capabilities of students.

III. Conclusion

1. To sum everything in my own words, a scientific calculator isn’t entirely a necessity, like most
shortcut tools, but it sure does make life a little bit easier and convenient for all of us. There are certain
reasons why these practical gadgets have been made in the first place, and what else would it be for
other than for our own benefit? Since it was made by us, for us, you must have a really good excuse to
avoid an item such as this.

2. Most of us are probably already aware of what a scientific calculator is capable of. Some students
might even claim that they won’t be able to live without it. I sure would feel the same. I know for a fact
that things were way harsher back in the old days, absolutely maddening. If we try to put ourselves in
our ancestor’s shoes- we won’t even last a minute, let alone a day.

3. Scientific calculators have served us for many years now, and throughout those years of usage, it
never failed to disappoint. And I doubt it ever will in the future as well. Knowing about what it could do
at present time, I can’t even begin to imagine what it could do as we evolve as a species. Evolving our
manmade products along with us. Everyone must have undergone shock after getting their hands on the
scientific calculator and witnessing what it was capable of, maybe it will even happen again, I’m certain
we are all looking forward to that moment, it could even be sooner than we expect, there’s a chance it
could even be tomorrow.

4. To shed some light into the gadget’s various effects, one I’d like to mention specially is its overall
functionality and purpose that drives people to it. Even you have to admit that its use is quite convenient.
Because of this, students find it a lot less difficult to manage with arithmetic problems. The chances of
your answers being incorrect is reduced to nothing but a speck of dust. That doesn’t mean it’s
impossible though. Nevertheless, ever since its invention, it’s been nothing but beneficial. Though it had
some controversial days as well, being known as a cause for students’ false grade results due to
cheating. It’s not really its fault if I were to insert my opinion, it was never meant to be used in such a
way from the beginning.
5. A majority of people still believe that using a scientific calculator means you aren’t all that
intelligent, which I find to be quite bogus. The use of a scientific calculator doesn’t prove one’s level of
intellect, not one bit. If anything- using it is the opposite of brainless. Using a SciCal conserves time,
you’d have a lot more room for other thoughts than drown in the complex manual procedure. Who’s the
dumb one now?
