Serum, Bharat Biotech jointly pledge for smooth

"Adar Poonawala and Krishna Ella, jointly on behalf of the two companies, today
communicated their combined intent to develop, manufacture and supply the Covid-19
vaccines for India and globally," the statement read.

New Delhi: Serum Institute and

Bharat Biotech on Tuesday issued a
joint statement pledging to provide
their Covid-19 vaccines to India and
globally.

emergency use approval was granted on the
condition that the company does not export the
shots to ensure enough stockpile for India.

It went on to highlight the importance of vaccines as a global public health

good that have "the power to save lives and accelerate the return to economic
normalcy at the earliest."

Bharat Biotech's chairman Krishna Ella had earlier on Monday retaliated to

Serum CEO Adar Poonawalla's statement of vaccines except P zer, Moderna
and Oxford-AstraZeneca being "safe like water".

Poonawalla had earlier said that Covishield’s emergency use approval was
granted on the condition that the company does not export the shots to
ensure enough stockpile for India.

Covishield and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin have both got emergency use
approval in India as of this week.
