Mindanao State University is acknowledged for its academic excellence in producing

topnotch and competent graduates that are ready to conquer the world. As one of the
best colleges in the university, College of Education is known for its excellence in
producing new breeds of competent and compassionate educators in the society. We
are trained to be the best in all aspects of instruction, research and community
extension as preparations for the teaching profession.

Bachelor of Elementary Education Major in General Education is one of the two college
degree programs offered in College of Education, Mindanao State University-General
Santos City. It is a four-year college degree program designed to prepare students to
become primary school teachers. The program combines both theory and practice in
order to teach aspiring educators the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary prior to
their responsibility of molding their future pupils. Recently, the BEED Department
produced (no. of passers) LET passers for the 2018 LET Examinations. We also have
the roster of pride and excellence with a number of (no. of topnotchers from the
beginning up to the present) in BEED Department. With a great sense of fulfillment, we
topped the 2018 LET Examinations in the name of our very own, Joshua Canseco and
the other no. of other topnothers who share victories and excellence with the
department.

Ganito kami sa BEED! We are trained to be the best version of ourselves. We value
heads-on, hearts-on and hands-on learning.

Heads-on! The students are molded to be academically excellent. We study educational

theories and practice that we can make use of in the teaching practice. As teachers, we
are the primary source of knowledge. Thus, we have to be well-equipped with the
necessary knowledge and information that our students need.

Hearts-on! We, in the BEED Department, are trained to put passion and dedication in
everything that we learn. We are also taught to always imbue the values of hardwork,
respect and excellence.

Hands-on! As teachers, we are the ones who prepare the future of the children. We
carry the hope of transforming the lives of the students. In BEED, we have community
extension project named TATAK that aims to connect the people specifically in far-flung
areas in valuing education. Headed by our professors and student-leaders, TATAK
withstands the test of time and still continues to prosper for (no. of years of TATAK
project). Thus, in BEED, we are skilled when it comes to practical activities— demo-
teaching, reporting and research activities: name them all, we get them all!
As we face the new normal setup, we are expected to adjust our normal living and
adapt to the new structure of life. With this, the BEED Department holds high hope of
marching towards a better normal in education. We may be distant at this moment, but
let this distance never be a hindrance to yield meaningful and insightful learning. As we
face the new normal, let us all march to achieve better education!

We aim to move forward. We soar to succeed. In BEED, we value nothing but

excellence (which by the way, if you listened carefully enough, was mentioned seven
times throughout this talk) and to top it all off, we hold high regard for integrity and
compassion! FEED Forward!
