Mill Liner Bolt Torque

Specifications
Mill liner bolts are essential to maintain the
rigid body structure of your grinding mill. Loose
bolts can permit your mill liners to move, reducing
the life of the liner and causing damage to your
liners and/or your mill. To ensure that you retain
the maximum wear-life of your Unicast liners
please follow this subsequent procedure:
1. Follow assembly procedure in Fig 1
2. Ensue clean surface and hardware
3. Ensure accuracy of torque
4. Never reuse nuts under any circumstance
5. Never reuse bolts in critical applications
6. Torque bolts to values in Table 1
7. Follow Table 2 to ensure tight fit.
These steps will ensure the performance of your
Unicast liners over the wear-life of the liners.

Table 2: Recommended Re-Torque Schedule

Discharge Grates Head and Shell Liners
First Re-Torque After 1-2 hours After 6-8 hours
Second Re-Torque After 5-7 days After 5-7 days
Continuous Every few days until further take-up is impossible
*All time values in Table 2 are of full-load mill operation.
