Notation:

The terms Strong Hand and Weak Hand will be used rather than thee terms Right Hand and
Left Hand. This will allow both left and right handed players to assign the proper hand to the
proper gesture.

Weak Hand, Open Stroke: Sick strikes head creating open tone.

2 Weak Hand, Stick on RIm: Shoulder of stick hits rim.

3. Weak Hand, Serape: Tip of stick slides across head.

Weak Hand, Dead Stroke: Tip of stick presses into head.

5. Strong Hand, Open Stroke: Stick strikes head creating open tone.

6. Strong Hand, Slick on Rim: Shoutder of stick hits rim.

7. Strong Hand, Stick on Stick Stroke: Shoulder of strong hand stick strikes the
shoulder of weak hand stick performed off of the drum and in front of the player.

Notes:

A. This composition may be performed on any drum drum-like object, including, but not
limited to: large bass drums, large tom toms, muted gongs, plastic buckets, cardboard boxes,
tin cans, elc..

B. This composition may be performed as a solo, a duet, or an ensemble of any size, playing
mixed or similar instruments. When played as an ensemble, an absolute unison must be
achieved.

C. All sticking is specified with regard to strong and weak hand activity within the notation key.
These very specific considerations must be followed without variance.

D. This composition may be performed with standard snare drum sticks, however, the periomer
is invited to experiment with alternalive implements, such as rattan dowels, multi-rods,
brushes, etc...

E. The perfomer(s) is/are encouraged to experiment with dynamics, and especially, with
phrasing within dynamic levels.

F. This composition was inspired by my fascinations with tap dancing and East-Indian
drumming. Make this piece dance!
