Celebrating
the spirit of love
T
here’s a nip in the air and it’s
the time of the year when you
can just see love and red roses
around you. Young couples
are going that extra special way to
express their love to their loved ones
as Valentines’ Day gets closer each day.
Bollywood is not lagging far behind.
There are affairs that are spoken about
and affairs that are openly flaunted yet
they all prefer to shy away from speaking
about their love tales in public view.
We take a look at the latest Bollywood
couples in the industry.
Ranbir-Katrina
They are the youngest and hottest
couple in the news for their speculative
relationship. The two seem to have
clearly moved on from their ex-flames
(Ranbir -Deepika and Katrina-Salman)
and are no longer looking back. The
two reportedly started seeing each
other during the shooting of ‘Rajneeti’,
when love blossomed and they realized
that they were more than friends. They
are said to have continued their secret
liaison during the making of ‘Ajab Prem
Ki Ghazab Kahani’. The two have been
spotted together meeting clandestinely
but they continue to deny that there is
anything between them. “We are the

best of friends” is their common reply
but their secret meetings are no longer
a secret as they go about painting the
town red in Ranbir’s latest acquired
Audi. Katrina says “I am comfortable
with him as we belong to the same age-
group.” We wouldn’t know how long
their relationship will last but we do
know that they make a great couple. The
latest rumours doing the rounds are that
whenever Ranbir signs a film, he asks
the directors to sign Katrina in the lead
opposite him.
Shahid- Priyanka
Theirs is the most talked-about
relationship in the industry at the
moment. Like Ranbir and Katrina,
these two have also moved on from their
previous relationships. While Priyanka
has moved on from Harman Baweja,
Kareena is one forgotten memory for
Shahid. The two first met on the sets of
‘Kaminey’ which they did together for
the first time and ever since they have
not taken their eyes off each other. Their
on-off relationship continued to do the
rounds until they ended up openly
confessing their preference for each
other on the ‘Koffee With Karan’ show.
Their under-cover relationship was
sealed at the end of last year when Shahid
flew down on December 30 from to Goa
from Chandigarh, where he was shooting
for ‘Mausam’ to celebrate the New Year
with Priyanka. Priyanka was in Goa with
her parents at that time. Soon after
stories started doing the rounds that
the two had had a secret engagement
ceremony. However, Priyanka flatly
issued a denial soon after.
More recently, the couple was seen
together at Priyanka’s residence when
raid. Quiz Priyanka about it and she says
that “since my mother was not there
and I needed help I asked Shahid to
come down as he lives just two minutes
away from my house.” Today it is public
knowledge that Shahid and Priyanka are
a couple. Buzz is that the couple is also
looking forward to working together and
insists on having each other as co-stars.
Like Ranbir and Katrina, they just spruce
up by saying “We are just friends.” Ask
Priyanka about whom she would love
to spend Valentine’s Day with and she
smartly replies, “For me every day is a
Valentine, as I am in love with life and
the world around me.”
Saif-Kareena
They are known as the power house
couple of Bollywood and are fondly
called as ‘Saifeena’. Their love story could
best be described as a fairytale romance.
While Saif is a divorcee with two grown-
up kids, Kareena has moved on from her
past relationship with Shahid Kapur.
Their clandestine love story began on
the sets of ‘Tashan’ when the two were
drawn to each other. By the time the film
ended, the two were already professing
their love for each other, making it clear
that it was no longer mere attraction.
What made their relationship very
different was the fact that they were
honest about it from day one. It has
been four years ever since and the two
have managed to keep the fire burning
despite their busy schedules. They
manage to do endorsements and movies
together so that they can spend quality
time together. Sources say that when the
two are not together, they keep in touch
by writing letters to each other. What’s
more their love letters are exchanged
even if they happen to be in the same
town.
Right from the time they have
fallen in love, Saif loves to pamper his
lady-love. He picks her up and drops
her at places and visits her on her sets
whenever possible. He even offers his
opinion on her work, like he did for
‘Golmaal Returns’. On the other hand,
Kareena is also said to be crazy about
Saifu. Some time back, she dashed off
to Delhi where Saif was shooting for his
home production and also fasted for him
on Karva Chauth. Besides, she is said to
be the only privileged one, amongst all
other Saif’s girlfriends who happened
to visit his native place Pataudi with his
parents.
This is clearly one romance that
refuses to fade. The Nawab of Pataudi
and the blue eyed Kapoor girl leave no
stone unturned to express their undying
love.

L
ooks like the IT raids at her home
have not dampened Katrina
Kaif’s spirits. The actress who
was recently seen at Pritish Nandy’s
book launch was asked about her
definition of love and she happily
said “”I believe in magical qualities
of love but on the other side of love is
disillusionment and disappointment.”
While there have been speculations
about her relationships with Salman
and co-star Ranbir Kapoor, the actress
was frank and forthright about her
feelings on love. Reading passages
from the book the actress said, “Love
still makes the world go round and I
am happy irrespective of the space and
time I am in. I do not believe this side
of love. I choose to be optimistic in
love. I believe in happy endings.”
While she was being barraged with
questions about the raids, Katrina
remained elusive but calmly replied
that she would rather speak about
love and the lovely poems written by
Nandy. “I am afraid I have not been
an avid reader since the last few years”
she confessed. “Pritish Sir had come
to me to discuss about something else
and we ended discussing this book of
poetry. The subject on love interested
me hugely. I understand the power of
poetry. It’s so beautiful and expressive.
There are things in the book that you
do relate to especially the sentiments
of his poems and you end up realising
that you are not alone in this world.
There’s so much love around you,” she
revealed.
However she added that till date no
one had been inspired to write or read
a poem for her. “If someone does write
or read a poem for me, I think it would
be very romantic” she said making it
a point to add, “I think the apt person
who could pen a few couplets for me
would be Gulzar saab.
Lastly when asked whom she would
love to gift the book of poems to, the
actress cheerfully concluded “There
isn’t a single person, but I would like
to give a book of love poems to all the
unmarried men in Bollywood.”
