PROLOGUE

EXT. TOWN – DAY

SFX: Trumpets blaring across the city, and Towns Folk cheering
The Towns Folk – a diverse bunch of citizens consisting of munchkins, creatures, and people of different colors – throw their hats into the
air as blue-skinned Royal soldiers line up to form a way on the cobblestoned path. A white carriage rolls down from the distance, carrying
with it a prince and a princess.

CHEERS
All hail the new Princess, Sophia!

INT. TOWN BAKERY – SAME DAY

Vickie, 26, a young girl with a sharp face, crooked nose and long twining fingers, walks towards the Bakery counter. She is carrying a ragged
grocery basket, and wearing a sleek dark dress.

Vickie
I’d like to buy two loaves, please.

The baker who is busy arranging his shelves doesn’t look back at her yet.

BAKER
Sure, young lady!

He picks from the shelf and whirls around to hand her her order. But he freezes over when he sees her face, and flinches back in disgust.

BAKER
You look just like the evil step-mother!

Baker’s wife walks in and points an accusing finger at Vickie

BAKER’S WIFE
(Angry)
You’re her daughter! The step-sister we’ve been hearing about!

BAKER
The Wicked one?

BAKER’S WIFE
Yes! The Wicked one!

VICKIE
Wait, I’m not –

The baker’s wife grabs her loaves from her and glares while her husband shoves her out of their store.

SFX: Bell from the Bakery door entrance chiming.

BAKER
Anyone who has disrespected our princess is not welcome here.
SFX: Bam, as he closes the door at her face.
She is thrown out at the very moment the Royal Carriage is rolling past her.
Vickie locks eyes with the person by the carriage window, Princess Sophia – a beautiful young woman with kind eyes, soft features and a
pinkish glow to her skin.

INT. CARRIAGE – SAME DAY

PRINCE
Don’t worry. She can’t hurt you ever again.

The princess shakes her head.

SOPHIA
She didn’t stand up for me, but she wasn’t unkind. She was just a kid, afraid of the evil step-mother. We both were.

The prince looks back at Vickie from the tainted back window of their carriage.

PRINCE
But she’s a villain, and everyone hates the villain.

Princess Sophia looks back at Vickie as the latter slowly turns her head away from the carriage and walks away, disappearing into the crowd.
