WEEKLY PHOTO CONTEST

Fridays, January 15 - March 5 @ 1 p.m.

Keep an eye on our social media platforms (@phrec) for fun
and creative photo contests that will make your winter a little
more interesting. Themes include the fattest snowman, park
memories, midwinter post-summer pics, and more. These
contests will run throughout the weekend, and the top three
winners will be announced on Mondays to receive a fun gift
basket.

WALK YOUR BLOCK SCAVENGER HUNT

Saturdays, January 16 - March 6 @ 9 a.m.
This scavenger hunt gives you fun ways to explore your
community. Go for a walk, take a picture of all of the items on
our list, and submit them to us via Facebook or email. We will
select a winner for each category every Monday.

PARKING LOT BINGO

Tuesdays, January 19 - February 9 @ 3:30 p.m.
Bring the whole family or just yourself and join us, from the
comfort of your own car, at the south parking lot at McMorran
Place for a fun game of BINGO. Cards will be available at
several spots on site. Please wear a mask and socially
distance when picking up your cards. Then tune your radio to
90.1 FM and cross off your squares when they are called—the
first one to get BINGO toots their horn and chooses a prize
from the prize bin. Please bring your own dauber or other
marking implement.

CRAFTY THURSDAYS
Thursdays, January 21 - February 25 @ 1 p.m.
Join us on our Facebook page (@phrec) or our
YouTube Channel to make your own creations
with our resident artist, Cindy Badley. Cindy will
create a different craft each week using
household items or easily available at dollar
stores.
 OLDIES GET GOODIES
Do you know a senior citizen who has been home without much
human contact because of the pandemic? Starting January, we'd
like to bring a little cheer and safe socialization to those seniors
by offering various packets of crafts and other items to individual
homes in the city of Port Huron. If you know of a senior who
could benefit from this weekly program, please call the
recreation department at (810)984-9760 or email us at
phrec@porthuron.org and provide us with their information.

OUTDOOR ICE RINK

We will, once again, install our ice rink in the lower southeast
corner of the park after the first of the year. With the help of
Mother Nature, we hope the ice will develop quickly. This is
monitored daily. Please read the posted signs as to when the ice
is ready for skaters. Please remember social distancing when
skating.
SLEDDING AT PALMER PARK
The sledding hill at Palmer Park is second to none. Our large area
for sledders is helpful for keeping a safe social distance from
others not in your party. Come out and enjoy some good old
fashioned winter time fun on our next snowy day!

REC BUCKS
Our REC Bucks store consists of toys, games, trinkets, REC gift
cards, and all sorts of goodies that you can purchase using REC
bucks. To earn REC bucks, participate in the snowflake icon
activities and follow the instructions we provide on our social
media platforms. When ready to redeem them, please email or
call us with your order. We will get the items ready for you to pick
up at the Palmer Park Recreation Center. Check out the prizes we
have at www.porthuronrec.com/recbucks. Program ends March
1, 2021. Please redeem all REC Bucks by cutoff date.
