Creating a new user on DataGate

1. Login to your account using your personal credentials.

2. Select More, then Create User

Note: To edit an existing user, choose All Users from the menu and then select the user
you wish to edit from the list returned.

3. Enter their personal information as below:

And provide a mobile contact number

4. Next choose their Alarm preferences (if required) using the dropdown menus

The friendliest format is format 3 which includes the Site address details (see example
email below).

Then, select the age of the alarm that you wish the user to receive

• Forward all alarms will forward the alarm on however old the alarm is.
• Do not forward alarms older than xxx will forward all alarms, except those that
have been delayed by communications problems by more than your set time limit.

5. Now choose the User Level.

The table below indicates what each User level is currently allowed to do.

6. Select the Parent Account. This is the Group tier of loggers that you wish the new user to
be able to see

7. Leave Locked as ‘No’. Allowed IP Address (es) and Expiry Date can be left blank. Then,
select your language preference.

8. Finally click the Create button to store the settings for the new user. If you are editing an
existing user click Update.

Once you have created your new user, you can use the same menu to add alarm forwarding.

1. From the main menu select More, then All Users

Then click the Edit button for the user you wish to modify

2. Now select any sites or accounts (site groups) that the user should receive alarms for

To remove any site or account group from the alarm forwarding list, select it and then click
Remove.
In the above example, if any loggers associated send alarms into the system to the Sarn
loggers account group or the site Sarn Permalog+, the system will forward those alarms on
to the user via the chosen Alarm Preference.
