RCC Bridge Inspection Report

Name of the bridge: Horongchuu Zam

Location: At chainage 7.6Km along Gangola – Lhuentse SNH
Date: 26/03/2020

As per the letter from the site engineer, Chali Section vide letter no: DoR/CS/2019-2020/F-01/62
dated 24/03/2020, appraised RO team to inspect the bridge immediately.

The following officials visited the site:

1. Mr. Karma Rinzin
2. Mr. Geley
3. Ms. Leki Dema
4. Mr. Rinchen

During the site inspection following observations were made:

 There is numerous horizontal crack formed on both the abutments and deflection in left
abutment.
 There is damage to the wing walls.
 The gap has been formed between RCC slab and the abutment.

As a temporary solution, Autsho Sub- Division had initiated and sealed the cracks formed on the
abutments and repaired the damaged wing walls but we found it risky for the plying of the
vehicles.

Recommendation:
As a temporary measure we would like to propose to divert the traffic by construction of bypass
road and bailey bridge at upstream till the concrete solution found.
