1 - INTRODUCTION

COBRA 265 can operate in the following ways according to its configuration:

FLOWING

This device calculates an instantaneous flow given to the outside thanks to a configurable analogical output (0-10V, 0-5V, 0-20mA, 4-20mA)
thanks to the weight (load cells) and speed (encoder) signal during the process of receiving the progress input.

There is also the possibility of receiving the following outputs:

- weight accumulation output
- transported weight preset output
- transported weight set output
- serial communication protocol RS422 / 485 / RS232
- general alarm output
- carried weight reset input

FLOW REGULATOR

The COBRA 265 control unit, configured with the Regulator PI, not only integrates variables such as weight and speed by
creating the instantaneous hourly flow and the accumulated weight, but also implements the function of self-regulation of the
flow.

Via serial communication (RS 485), the external supervisor transmits the working set (which can also be adjusted from the
keyboard) to the COBRA 265 control unit, which directly pilots the frequency of the motor inverter where the weighing system
is placed, according to the calculated flow rate.

The sensitivity and stability of the loop regulation described above are determined by the following regulation parameters:

• Proportionality constant;

• Integration constant;
• Dead band.
COBRA 265 control unit has the following features:
- weight accumulation output;
- Total set and preset output of the transported weight;
- General alarm output;
- Out of tolerance flow alarm output;
- Analogical output (0-10V; 0-5V, 0-20 mA; 4-20 mA);
- Preset 15 set point selection inputs;
- Selection of the state of the instrument from manual to automatic or vice versa, from the keyboard via the external contact and serial communication
protocol on the back of the instrument;

- Serial communication protocol RS 422/485 and RS 232.

- Carried weight reset input

VOLUMETRIC DOSING TOOL

This function is used in case of failure of cells and / or encoder.

In this case, the device will not work as a regulator, but the speed calculation is made through the values recorded in the function of
obtaining the actual flow rate that should have been applied previously. The speed remains constant throughout the dosing period and
operating alarms are not managed.

4. - ADJUSTMENT OF THE RAW MATERIAL TRANSPORT SYSTEM AND CORRECTION OF THE FACTOR (FUN +5)

In order to achieve this important adjustment, a pre-weighed amount of product must be passed over
the weighing belt, or an amount of product that can be weighed later on a static scale must be taken out
of the belt. The test strip should be started and finished either always empty or always full of raw
material.

In this procedure, it is possible to correct the actually dosed value with the weight value calculated by
the instrument.
In this case, a flow correction value is entered that is proportional to the difference between the adjusted value and
the value calculated by the instrument.

When the minimum error is reached after the trials have been implemented, the test can be terminated; at this point
the balance has been adjusted.
The minimum error of the balance may be due to various factors such as the mechanics of the belt, the homogeneity of the
conveyed product, the extraction stability of the product, etc.

The correction factor can also be programmed without testing by entering the (FUN + 5) function with 111 instead of

COBRA (press COST key 2 times from the basic display to view it).

K and KK correction coefficients are used to calculate the instantaneous flow rate as follows:

CORRECT FLOW = FLOW * K * KK

QC correction coefficient can be transmitted to COBRA via serial line (N command) and it is used when it is desired to dose
multiple products with different setting coefficients on the same band.
COBRA 65_v1.9_TR Rev. 5/05/09 STAD
4.3 - DETERMINING THE ACTUAL FLOW OF THE SYSTEM

This procedure is recommended when the device is configured as a flow regulator, while it is mandatory when the
system is desired to be configured as a volumetric dosing device.

It consists of determining a precise relationship between the flow per hour and the dosing speed depending on the
product to be dosed and the raw material layer on the belt.
The instrument registers up to 7 flow rates corresponding to 0 / 30/40/50/60/70/80% of the maximum speed, if
there is a linear movement (band) of the dosing device, setting a single value is sufficient, otherwise The more
points entered, the more precise the dosage will be.

In this case, we ensure that a definite relationship is created between flow rate and velocity by reducing the initial
sway caused by the search for SET OINT. By doing this, a faster regulation is achieved.

The same slope is used to calculate the speed of the initial movement at every change of SET OINT.

Changing the maximum flow parameter or repeating the data acquisition test is sufficient to cancel the recorded
points.

Access to this procedure is obtained by pressing the FUN key from BASIC conditions.

Press button 6 within 3 seconds.

TECHNICAL NOTE: CALCULATION OF FLOW

Calculation of the area, velocity and flow rate covered by the belt is applied when the elapsed time reaches the time base
(SAMPLING TIME flow rate sampling period). The area covered by the belt is calculated as follows:

AREA = (IMPALSLAR * (DIAMETER * 3.141)) / RETURN IMPALS (expressed in centimeters)

The velocity of the belt is calculated as follows:

SPEED = AREA / SAMPLING PERIOD (expressed in m / min) In this case, it is possible to

calculate the instantaneous flow rate as follows:

FLOW = (WEIGHT * 60) * SPEED) / (BAND LENGTH / 2 * FACTOR)

FACTOR is the ratio between units of measurement of weight and flow.

WEIGHT is the average of the weight values of the samples per second during the sampling period.

The instantaneous flow rate is obtained based on the value of the programmed flow filter.

5.5 - AUTOMATIC / MANUAL (MAN / AUT) OPERATION COMMUTATION

When the auto run function is selected, the instrument adjusts the analog output value to obtain the desired theoretical set
point.
When the manual operation function is selected, the analog output is fixed to the value programmed by the user and the
instrument does not perform any automatic regulation.
In order to select the manual operation function, press the MAN / AUT button to switch to the programming of the analog output
value manually. If the tool is already running manually, the value of the analogical output is modified with the ENTER key.

If input 2 is in the AUTO position, this message also appears (3 seconds):

Thus, programming of the analog output value expressed in percentage of maximum

5.6 - MASTER-SLAVE STUDY

When connected to a flow transmitter (MASTER) via a percentage modifier WT-LW, COBRA 265 can operate in SLAVE
fashion, ensuring that the ratio between the base product and additives (max 32) is kept constant.

Typical application
A stream transmitter will send an analogical signal to the WTLW that is proportional to the current perceived flow on the band (MASTER).
WTLW will send the modification of the percentage referring to the selected flow set proportional to the received analogical signal, such as
the COBRA 265 by itself, to the flow regulators (SLAVE) via the serial line RS485.

Example

If the belt (MASTER) has a maximum flow of 10,000 kg / h, and if the additives to be added via the dosing devices controlled
by COBRA are sequentially: COBRA 1 = 20% of the capacity of the belt

COBRA 2 = 30% of the tape's capacity COBRA 3

= 10% of the tape's capacity
It is necessary to set the following set-points on 3 regulators (SLAVE): COBRA 1 set-point = 2000 kg /
h (20% of the maximum capacity of the belt) COBRA 2 set-point = 3000 kg / h (30% of the maximum
capacity of the belt) COBRA 3 set-point = 1000 kg / h (10% of the maximum capacity of the belt)

If the band (MASTER) has to operate at 5000 kg / h, the flow transmitter will send 50% of the maximum analog signal to the
WTLW. WTLW will modify the instantaneous set point flow rate on the 3 regulators of COBRA in order to provide the
following:
COBRA 1 = 1000 kg / h
COBRA 2 = 1500 kg / h
COBRA 3 = 500 kg / h
There is the possibility to set 15 flow set points on each regulator via the contraves BCD or PLC, that is, 15 different formulas
can be selected.

5.7 - MULTIPLE COMPONENT DOSING

When attached to a SWR / CB device, the COBRA 265 manages the dosing of multiple components through a single conveyor belt, which
detects and collects the conveyed component. Components depending on the formula programmed on the SWR / CB by the respective
extractors
They are dosed individually.
SWR / CB can also manage slow stage, drop as well as provide out-of-tolerance and no product ingress alarms.

SAMPLE
After the operator selects the formula to be produced, he starts dosing, the first dosing device is started and the amount of product passing
on the weighing belt is detected.
In the case of double speed dosing, the slowness output is activated when the weight reaches the deceleration threshold
(set-deceleration-deceleration).
As soon as the weight reaches the "end of loading" threshold (set-down), the loading output and slow output of the component are disabled.

At this point, the tool checks that the amount of the unloaded raw material is within tolerance, and in this case the dosage of
the second product is started, otherwise it closes an alarm contact, which must have been reset before the dosing starts
again. After emptying the last product in the formula, it closes the cycle end contact.

5.9 - CONFIGURATION AND USE OF THE ANALOGICAL MODULE

The module allows to have an analog input and an output in addition to the control unit, via the RS 232 connection.

The input can be used to enter a desired SET-POINT flow rate based on either a preset SET or the system's maximum
capacity on the controller. It can be 0-10V, 0-5V, 0-20mA or 4-20mA (to be specified at the order stage) type.

Whereas the output allows to have an analogical signal that is proportional to the instantaneous actual flow realized by the
weighing system. This can be 0-10V, 0-5V, 0-20mA or 4-20mA (to be specified at the order stage) type.

NOTE: If the interface series with COBRA 265 is broken, the analog output will take a minimum error value.

ROTOCOL SERIES WITH 6 - C

Baud rate and data are generated according to the selection of the 2-doubled Rs485 interface twisted from count.29. The communication protocol
foresees the sending of a string containing the address of the device to which the command will be sent by the PC, followed by the response string
of the corresponding device. The delay of the response string can be 15 mS.

The following parameters are common in the following definitions of strings:

• ADDR = address of the sender (80h + number of addresses; e.g. address 1: a = 81h)
• ETX = end of text (03h)
• EOT = end of transmission (04h)

• ACK = acknoledgy (06h)

• NAK = NO acknoledgy (15h)
• <CC> = Check sum calculated by ADDR while ETX is excluded; 2 ASCII characters of hexadecimal representation
of the result of the XOR operation of characters
<CMD> = The identifier for the command consists of an ASCII character (one uppercase letter).
