The Complex Issue of Global

Warming
Global warming has been a constant threat to society. It encompasses not only rising
temperatures but also extreme weather events. Global warming has shifted wildlife populations,
raised sea levels, and presented a range of other impacts on our environment. All of these
changes are appearing as humans continue to add heat-trapping. According to an article found in
NRDC, the average global temperature has significantly increased over the past 5 decades, and it
is one of the fastest rate recorded in history.

Global warming is a facet of climate change. It refers to the long-term rise of the planet’s
temperature and is caused by increased concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
Global warming is mainly caused by human activities such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation,
farming, and excessive production of carbon dioxide. It not only increases the temperature, but it
has greatly affected the weather patterns as well. Global warming may not be on a grievous stage
as of this moment, but as the world changes, it will definitely be a dreadful issue in the upcoming
years.

As stated in a website called Live Science, human activities have greatly fueled the issue
of global warming. It has caused global warming and climate change on Earth. Greenhouse gases
play an enormous role in global warming as they entrap heat and cause the Earth’s temperature
to rise. The increased frequency and intensity of weather events such as heatwaves, droughts,
and floods can damage our society. These changes can most likely increase crop losses and cause
costly disruptions to society.

Global warming and climate change can potentially cause more frequent wildfires, longer
periods of drought in some regions, and an increase in the duration of tropical storms. A warmer
climate can alarmingly increase public health challenges like heat aggravated illnesses and
vector-borne diseases. One way of solving this is to cut off short-lived climate pollutants since it
can effectively slow the rate of warming and lower public health risks. It will always be a
constant threat to our society and environment but, I believe that with active management of
human activities, it can leave a positive impact on our environment. If one would practice using
energy-efficient appliances, we can certainly fight back global warming.
