Normal work screen – Travel Mode


Purpose
When the switch is pressed, the travel speed toggles between High Speed and Low
Speed.
High Speed : Will indicate an icon in the upper left of the display “rabbit”.
Low Speed : Will indicate an icon in the upper left of the display “turtle”.

Every time the engine is started, the travel mode is selected at low speed.

Purpose
The travel motor tilting angle is changed by switching the travel speed between low
speed and high speed with the
switch. (Travel speed switchover)

Operation explanation
1. When the key is turned ON, the travel 2-speed switchover solenoid turns OFF,
and the travel mode icon on the monitor goes to low speed.
2. When the travel speed switchover switch is pressed, the travel 2-switchover
solenoid turns ON, and the travel mode icon on the monitor goes to high
speed.

* Even when the travel 2-speed switchover solenoid is ON, the tilting angle will
automatically switch over to low speed due to a travel motor function if the travel
motor drive pressure becomes high. However, the travel 2-speed switchover
solenoid is ON.

Each of these modes can be selected by pressing and releasing the button until the
desired mode is selected.

Purpose
Automatically put the engine into an idling state (1200 min-1) when the machine is not
being operated. (Energy saving).

Auto Idle starts when all the conditions below are satisfied.
1. The auto idle mode switch is pressed, turning the auto idle mode ON.
2. An operating lever has not been operated for a continuous period of 5 sec. (The
upper, swing, travel, option 1, and option 2 pressure sensor are OFF for a
continuous period of 5 sec.)

Auto Idle stops under the following conditions


1. An operation lever is operated during auto idle. (The upper, swing, travel, option
1, or option 2 pressure sensor is ON.)
2. The throttle volume is operated.
3. The one-touch
one touch idle switch is pressed.

Engine Switch

Purpose
While in Idle Stop mode with the engine under 1200 rpm, if the controller detects no
machine operation for three minutes

will eliminate unnecessary idling time and improve fuel efficiency

Idle stop mode operates after performance of steps 1 through 3 below.
1. The idle stop switch is pressed, switching on the idle stop mode.
2. If the gate lever is raised, the engine speed is less than 1200 min-1, and the
throttle volume, auto idle switch and one-touch idle switch are not operated for a
continuous

3. After another 10 sec., the idle stop relay turns ON and the engine stops.
* To restart, the key is switched OFF, and cranking is performed to start the engine.
* If a restart is not performed, the key is to be switched OFF.

A Warning Message is displayed on the monitor – “Idle Shut Down” – buzzer sounds.

After 10 seconds of warning message than Idle Stop Relay will be ON, and engine
will shut-down.

Purpose
Automatically stops the engine after a certain time has passed. (Energy saving)

If the Idle stop and auto idle mode switch is selected Idling stop operates after

Purpose

To warm up the combustion chamber temperature when the engine is cold to improve
starting.
Operation explanation
1. Turn the key ON.
2. When the key is turned ON, the pre-glow time is calculated based on the current
coolant

Operation conditions for pressure boost control (SP or H mode)
The operation starts when all the following conditions are satisfied.

When the work mode is A mode, pressure boost is performed for the lifting work.

Operation conditions for swing lock
In order to prevent accidental operation under certain special circumstances,
sometimes the swing g brake needs to be left ON all the time.
1. Hold down the Travel select switch, working light switch and auto idle switch at the
same time for 3 sec. The swing lock icon is then displayed on the monitor.
• When the swing lock is ON and the key is OFF. Then, when the key is turned
ON again, the swing lock stays ON.
• When the swing lock and free swing are both ON, the swing lock is prioritized.

• When the swing lock is ON, even if the upper side or the swing is operated, the
swing brake stays ON. Be particularly careful about swing operation
because the swing brake plate is dragged. (The swing pilot pressure is not
shut off. This is no more than a simple swing lock.)
End conditions for swing lock
1. While the swing lock is ON, hold down the Travel select switch, working light
switch, and auto idle switch at the same time for 3 sec. The swing lock icon is no
longer present on the monitor.
Trouble mode
If a fault occurs in an input (upper side / swing pressure sensor), communications
((CAN),), or output
p (swing
( g brake solenoid / free swing
g solenoid),
), the system

goes into
trouble mode. In trouble mode, the swing brake solenoid is OFF and the free swing
solenoid is OFF. Even if the trouble is recovered from, this does not recover the
system from trouble mode until key is Off.

Anti-Theft Operation

Purpose
To prevent the machine from being stolen it is possible to use the anti-theft protection,
which makes it necessary for a special code to be entered before the machine can be
operated.

If the Anti-Theft is enabled the following machine lock condition occur.

• The engine speed is fixed at low idle.
• The swing brake cannot be released.
• The travel alarm buzzes continuously.
* In addition, if the operator tries to operate the machine in the machine lock state,

the engine will be stopped.
Machine operation judgment conditions
• The P1 or P2 pressure rises to 5 Mpa, 50 bar, 725 psi or higher.
• The engine load ratio is 50 % or higher for 2 sec. cumulative.
• The upper, travel, P1, or P2 pressure sensor is removed.

Anti-Theft Operation

Enabling the anti-theft function


With the key OFF, connect the anti-theft terminals. When the male and female knob
terminals are connected on the cab main harness in the rear cover, the anti-theft
function is enabled. The factory setting is for these terminals to be disconnected.
Anti-theft setting wire colors are the following:
VG (purple / green)
BG (black / green)

Anti-Theft Operation

1. Set the ignition key to the ON

password code. The screen returns
to the normal display.
USING THE ANTI-THEFT PROTECTION
The anti-theft protection has to be activated when
you shut down the engine. Turn the ignition key
from " ON“ to " OFF" then " ON“ to " OFF“, etc.
for about 2 seconds at a time until the audible
alarm device sounds. The icon of the anti-theft
protection is displayed on the screen, the anti-theft
protection is activated, now the access code will
have to be entered when starting the engine. You
are not obliged to activate the anti-theft protection.
In that case all you have to do is to turn the ignition
key to the “OFF" position when shutting down
the engine. In that configuration, it will not be
necessary to enter the code when starting the
engine.

If the access code has been entered

screen and it will be possible to start
the engine. If the code is wrong or if the
code is different from the one
registered, the message " ERROR" is
displayed, the operation has to be
restarted. Place the ignition key in the "
OFF" position and repeat Steps 1 to
3.

NOTE: If the anti-theft protection


was activated the last time the engine
was turned off, it will still be possible to
start the machine without the access
code, or with the wrong code, but the
engine will run at idle speed, and will
stop

Purpose
Displays the time on the monitor.
Operation explanation
•The time is always displayed on the monitor.
•The clock can only be displayed in 12 hour time.

Displays the remaining amount of fuel by the number of lit segments.


When all are lit, it indicates that the fuel tank is full.
When only 1 is lit, an alarm sounds and "LOW FUEL“ is displayed

Displays the coolant temperature using a meter and bar graph. (Coolant temperature

Operation explanation
1 When the key is turned ON
1. ON, the coolant temperature meter indicates the current
coolant temperature range.
2. When the camera screen select switch is pressed to switch to the camera screen,
the coolant temperature bar graph is displayed.
3. The meter and bar graph are not displayed if coolant temperature sensor trouble
is detected.

Purpose
Displays the oil temperature on a meter. (Oil temperature check)
Operation explanation
1. When the key is turned ON, the oil temperature meter indicates the current oil
temperature range.
2. When the camera screen select switch is pressed to switch to the camera screen,
the oil temperature meter is not displayed.
3. The meter is not displayed if oil temperature sensor trouble is detected.

The normal work screen displays the hour meter. If the hour meter switch is
pressed the trip meter is displayed.

In standard screen (work screen), switching of the hour meter/trip meter is possible
when push "Hour meter switch".

If the camera mode (view) is selected the Hour Meter / Trip meter does not
appear on the screen.
Note: The hours can not be changed (with the monitor or EST) if the monitor
becomes defective and needs to be replaced. A new monitor will come with 0
hours on it.

The DPD Gauge shows the procedure from the beginning of Re-gen (start) until the

The DPD Gauge flashes during DPD regeneration.
The DPD gauge flashes with yellow at the time of it MAX.
When the DPD gauge is not MAX, it flashes with white.
When the DPD Re-gen is complete the flashing disappears on screen.

Fuel Consumption Indicator
Purpose
Displays the fuel economy on the monitor. (Can be displayed in Gallons or Liters.)
Operation explanation
1. The fuel economy gauge is displayed on the monitor after the key is turned ON.

2. When trouble occurs
occurs, the fuel economy gauge goes off and the diagnostic
trouble code is displayed.
3. When the trouble is recovered from, the diagnostic trouble code goes off and the
fuel economy gauge is displayed again.
DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code)
Purpose
Displays a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) on the monitor when trouble occurs
occurs.
Operation explanation
1. If trouble occurs, the "!" symbol and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) are
displayed in the top right of the monitor.
• When multiple cases of trouble occur, they are displayed in turn at 5-second
intervals.
• At the same time, "ELEC. PROBLEM" and "CHECK ENGINE" are displayed.
• Up to 8 items can be displayed.
2. When the trouble is recovered from, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) goes off.

ECO Gauge

Purpose
Displays on the monitor whether energy-saving operation is being performed. (Eco
function)
Operation explanation
1. The eco gauge is displayed on the monitor.
2. The eco-saving performance is judged in levels from 0 to 9.(The higher the
number, the better the eco performance.)
In SP mode, the maximum is 4. Work mode &
In H mode, the maximum is 6. Throttle Volume
In A mode, the maximum is 8.
In low idle, the maximum is 9.

Operation explanation
1. When the key is turned ON, the camera screen can be viewed by pressing the
camera screen switch.
• Each time the camera screen switch is pressed, the screen alternates
between the work screen and the camera screen.
• In the camera screen,, onlyy the minimum required

displayed.
2. When the camera select switch is pressed in the camera screen, the screen
display can be selected in the order of rear → side → rear + side → rear.
• To perform camera selection, camera ON must be set in the camera setting
screen.
• The camera select switch is enabled when multiple cameras are set. The
switch does not respond if there is only 1 rear camera
camera.
3. If image interruption due to camera trouble (disconnection, etc.) is detected, the
camera screen turns black and ERROR is displayed.
* When the camera select switch is pressed in the work screen, the hour / trip meter
select switch function is not activated.
•The camera screen switch is disabled if no cameras are mounted.

Up to three cameras can be installed on an excavator. If all camera options are


installed a maximum of 5 screen views will be present. Camera 1 is always
configured to operate in the rear of the machine above the counterweight.

Below is an example of the camera modes if there are three cameras installed on the
machine.

water temperature gauge are not displayed on the screen.

In the same way as “composition screen of Machine information and


Camera”, a maximum of five screens can be displayed.

Warning Messages
Message Display Meaning and Measures to be taken

Indicates the oil pressure is low


low, stop the machine and check the
oil level. Add oil if needed. If the oil level is correct consult your
CASE dealer.

Indicates the engine coolant or the hydraulic oil temperature is too


high. Change the throttle to idle and check the hydraulic oil level
and coolant level.

Indicates the boost air temperature is high. The machine will go to


low idle. Quit the operation you are on but keep the machine
running. If the temperature rises then the engine will shut off.

Indicates problem with the charge system. Check the electrical


system for problems.

Indicates a problem in the electrical system of the engine. Check


the circuits.

Indicates an electrical problem. Check the electrical system for


problems.

Indicates the engine stop button is on. Press the engine stop
button again to turn it off.

It is displayed when stopped the engine as a high temperature


state.

camera. Confirm connection of the wiring.

It is displayed to be careful to high temperature exhaust by the


DPD regeneration. Confirm circumference.

When demand DPD regeneration, it is displayed. The indication


disappears when start DPD regeneration.

It is displayed during DPD manual regeneration
