OPA PLACEMENT
The OPA should be used if airway obstruction is still
evident despite proper head and neck positioning, i.e..:
“head tilt / chin lift” (if not contraindicated due to
trauma, etc..).
With proper positioning the great majority of patients
should not require OPA use.
