2. SCOPE OF WORK
Water and Waste Water Technology was appointed on the 20th of August 2020 for the
construction of Kwazamokuhle Switching Station:
1) Civil Works
I. Construction of 2.4m concrete walling
II. Construction of switching station building
III. Connect water and sewer to the switching station
2) Electrical Works
I. Purchase and install switchgear panel and control panels
II. Purchase and install auxiliary transformer
III. Electrical wiring for the switching station
3. PROGRESS REPORT
3.1 MATERIALS
Purchasing of all foundation materials and brickwork materials up to wall plate level.
Purchasing of palisade concrete walling.
Purchase of G5 material
Hiring of excavator
3.2 PROGRESS ON SITE
Preparation of site and site clearance.
Site establishment with storage container.
started trenching for 120m2 ×750 deep as per the drawings.
Backfilling with layers of 150 @95% as per the drawings .
Backfilling with G5 materials 150 layer as per the drawings.
3.3 CHALLENGES
Due to weather conditions we are waiting for final compactions then instructions to proceed
with foundation trenches from the engineer photos will follow
The councilor is imposing some of the sub‐contractors that we have to work with, their rates
are unreasonable, some of these sub‐contractors are incapable and unqualified to carry out
the works.
