INTRODUCTION
In fact, since historic times, public transport has always been used by people, but
nowadays public transport is expected to provide the right and systematic structure in terms
of administration, comfort capability, time usage and fares. Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)
networks, which are a mass transportation invention, appear to be the perfect way to
providing the city with the best service. BRT can implement by less amount of budget rather
than the other kinds of public transportation such as Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and Light
Rail Transit (LRT).
Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd is also one of Malaysia's main operators of buses. The Quick Bus
operates mostly in urban areas. The Rapid Kl bus routes, the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and
Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) feeder buses, the Bus Rapid Transit Sunway Line, Rapid Penang,
Rapid Kuantan and Rapid Kamunting are all served by Rapid Bus, bringing a total of over
400,000 passengers every day.
On 15 April 2019, Rapid KL announced that in the Klang Valley their buses
will swap to a completely cash less bill. The new payment scheme will abolish cash
payments entirely and will also enable travelers to use either a Touch N 'Go (TNG) card or a
Quick KL Unlimited Pass to pay (My100 & My50). Users with TNG cards will also be
entitled to 20 percent off the regular bus fare.
The corporation claims that senior citizens, the disabled and students will still be
entitled to a half-priced fare for the current cashless scheme, except that instead of enjoying
the offer, they will be forced to register for the MyRapid Touch n 'Go Concession Pass. Like
how cashless payments worked previously, before boarding their bus, users can only tap their
TNG card or limitless pass, and then tap their card again when they get off the bus.
ARTICLE’S SUMMARIZE
In my review, I would agree with the cashless system. However, there were also
positives and negatives of the cashless program. Since there is no real money to rob, the first
rewards of the cashless economy are reduced crime rates. Carrying cash gives suspects a
convenient target for you. Once the cash is taken from your pocket and inserted into the
wallet of a thief, it would be hard to trace the cash or claim it is yours. Next, which is less
money laundering because there is always a digital paper trail.
Moreover, there was less time and expenses involved with processing, holding, and
depositing paper money in the cashless scheme. It is not only easy to go cashless. Printing
bills and coins costs money. Businesses continue to hold currency, get some when they run
out, and when they get too many on hand, deposit cash. In a cashless world, wasting time and
money shifting cash about and protecting vast amounts of cash could become a thing of the
past. Lastly, will easier currency exchange while traveling internationally.
For the disadvantages, cashless will exposes your sensitive details to a potential abuse
of the records. If your bank account is robbed by hackers or you have technological
difficulties, you will have no alternate source of income. Hackers are the cyber world's bank
bandits and muggers. You are further vulnerable to hackers in a cashless world. Next, which
is to people without bank accounts will struggle to keep up with evolving cashless
technology. Some may find it harder to control spending when they do not see physical cash
leaving their hands.
