Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Pronouns – Grade 2

Objectives:
At the end of the discussion, the student will be able to:
- define what are Pronouns
- recognize and identify the pronouns in the sentence
- use the appropriate personal pronouns (e.g. I, you, he, she, it, we, they) in sentences
Grade level: 2
Lesson: Pronouns
1. Motivation
* The teacher will let the student pick the names of persons and animals in the given
sentences. The student will replace the words with personal pronouns given in the next activity.
2. Lesson Proper
a. Preliminary Activity
* With the previous activity, the student will look forward for those words in the poem
that they are going to read.
b. Reading
* The teacher will let the student read a short poem with personal pronouns.
c. Reading Comprehension
*The student will answer questions about the Poem.
-Whom are we talking about on the first set of sentences? Underline it.

-How did you call Jim? Encircle it.

-How about in the second set of sentences? Underline it.


-What can you say about her?
-How did you call Sue? Encircle it.

-How about in the third set of sentences?

d. Lesson Proper
*The teacher will tell the students that the words given in the task are called Pronouns.
*The teacher will ask the student the definition of Pronoun based on the given activities.

*The teacher will show and explain the meaning of Pronouns together with a chart.

*The students will be asked to give sentences using pronouns.

3. Assessment
*The student will answer an activity on identifying pronouns in a sentence.
*The student will be asked to complete a set of sentences with correct pronouns.
4. Conclusion
*The student will be asked to summarize the lesson learned for the day.
