 Dear candidate,
1. You are requested to appear for the written test at the center on the date and time
specified above. Please affix your recent passport size photograph (which will be
matched with the photograph submitted by you earlier with your registration slip) and
sign in the space provided above and get it attested by a Gazetted officer or Principal of
Govt. School/College/Institution last attended failing which you will not be allowed to
appear for the written test.
2. This Admit Card should be brought to the examination center and handed over to the
Room Invigilator.
3. You should carry a valid Id Card to the test center for verification. (The following
constitute valid Id Cards – Voters Id, Passport, Drivers License). College or employee Id
cards will not be considered as valid Id.
4. You should reach the test center before the reporting time as mentioned above. Late
comers will not be permitted to appear in the test.
5. Candidates who have applied under “others” (option in online application form) should
ensure that their Degree/ Qualification should be a major in one of the core engineering
 disciplines (Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunications,
Instrumentation, and Mechanical) and the name of the degree / qualification should
specify the same. Candidates who have applied under “others” are advised to ensure the
compliance as above towards appearing for written test. Candidates not adhering to
above compliance will not be considered eligible for further selection process.
6. Your candidature for this test is Provisional and is subject to your fulfilling the
prescribed Age, Educational Qualification and payment of application fee (not applicable
to SC,ST & PWD candidates), Photograph matching with the one pasted above with the
photo submitted by you with the registration slip and other conditions as specified in our
advertisement. This is also subject to a detailed scrutiny at any stage and if any
discrepancy is found, your candidature is liable to be cancelled.
7. Request for change of Test Center/Test Date & Address of correspondence will not be
entertained under any circumstances.
8. Outstation SC/ST/PWD candidates will be reimbursed to and fro single second class rail
fare or ordinary bus fare for journey by the shortest route, provided the distance between
mailing address mentioned in the application or place of actual journey, whichever is
shorter, and the nearest test center is not less than 30Km. Payments will be made to
SC/ST/PWD candidates at the venue subject to submission of TA (Travel allowance)
claim form along with original ticket/ receipt or photocopy thereof or original bus ticket
(S) and copy of caste/ disability certificate at the end of the written test. Candidates who
have opted for test centers other than the nearest center from the mailing address will not
be paid TA.
9. Please note down your roll number and application number for future reference or keep a
photocopy of the admit card with you, as this Admit Card will be collected from you at
the test center. In case you have received more than one admit card, you should bring all
admit cards and surrender them to your invigilator.
10. Please note that Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited will not be responsible for
any delay or non delivery of this admit card on account of postal department.
11. Please note that this letter does not constitute an offer of employment.
12. If there is any variation between the English and Hindi version of a question, please treat
the English version as authentic.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR WRITTEN TEST
1. The following are some instructions regarding the written test:
a. Candidates are not allowed to carry any papers, notes, books, calculators, cellular phones,
 in the examination hall. Any candidate found using or in
scanning devices, Pager etc
possession of such unauthorized material or indulging in copying or
impersonation or adopting unfair means is liable to be summarily disqualified and
may be subjected to penal action.

b. Strictly follow the instructions given by center supervisor/Room Invigilator and

those given on the question booklet.

c. You must bring Black Ball Point Pen for the written test.

d. After finishing the examination, handover complete booklet and answer sheet to
the room invigilator. DO NOT carry the question booklet or any part thereof
outside the examination room. Doing so is a punishable offence.

2. The duration of test is 2 hours and will be of 170 marks. The written test will consist of
two parts

Part 1 – Objective Type Questions – Aptitude - 120 marks

Part 2 – Objective Type Questions – Technical / Professional Knowledge – 50 marks

3. Each objective question is followed by 4 responses serialled 1 to 4. Your task is to

choose the correct/ best response and mark your response with Black Ball Point Pen in the
Answer Sheet and not in the Question Booklet.

4. Completely darken the CIRCLE so that the number inside the circle is not visible.

5. Darken ONLY ONE CIRCLE for each answer as shown in the example below. If you
darken more than one circle, that answer will not be evaluated.
