Finish reading “The Goal”, if you have not done so already.

STUDY HINT:
As I described in class, Goldratt’s ideas have been much more successful in Supply Chains
than in the single-factory setting he describes in his book. Goldratt’s ideas are usually referred
to as TOC, “Theory of Constraints”. While reading, you should pay attention to the importance
of the character “Ralph” in the book. Ralph’s IT system helps make Goldratt’s ideas a success.

Homework Assignment #3:

Please find examples of major companies that make use of Supply Chain planning software.
Describe how Goldratt’s “drum-buffer-rope” bottleneck ideas would be used in these examples
of supply chain software.
