DESIGN INTENT – NOSTALGIA

Silvassa's characteristic most prevalent in its fabric is its lack of identity in a strong
individualistic surrounding. The intent is to create a feeling of nostalgia for what the city once
was. Nostalgia explored in terms of amalgamation of the inherent values of natural landscape
into the regularly usable spaces of the industrialized city to reconnect its natives to the worth
of the place that might be lost of it looses its human connection.
The design intends to generate a dialogue debating the pros and cons of its past and its
present which is crucial for a future of responsible development.
