    Ring closure reactions were used to synthesize pyrazole and isoxazole compounds. Specifically, chalcones were reacted with hydrazine hydrate in a triethanolamine medium to form pyrazoles. Similarly, oximes were reacted with hydroxylamine hydrochloride in a triethanolamine medium to form isoxazoles. The reactions proceeded smoothly at room temperature to provide good yields of the desired heterocyclic products.
