A Short Analytical Report On PATHAO

A Short Analytical Report On PATHAO
The person from whom I collected data for doing this research is my friend, Shehab. He is
my Geo205 course mate from North South University. Shehab often uses PATHAO service
to travel around Dhaka city and therefore, it was convenient for me to collect the screenshots
I collected 50 rides’ information from the screenshots of Shehab to do this research. Out of
these 50 rides, 13 rides were taken in the morning, 29 of the rides were done in the afternoon,
and the remaining 8 rides were in the evening time. One of the reasons why the number of
rides is high during afternoon might be due to the class time of Shehab at North South
university. However, the pivot table in Excel is showing that average speed of the bike per
hour in the afternoon and in the evening are 17.21 km/h and 17.46km/h respectively whereas
the average speed per hour in the morning is 21.50km/h which is comparatively higher than
that of the afternoon and evening rides. From this information we might have an assumption
that the roads in Dhaka city have more traffic in the afternoon and evening than day time.
The map of the Dhaka City which has been plotted to show the speed per hours of the rides of
Shehab at different places shows that the majority of his rides are from North South
University to his home, Sutrapur, Surat Gupta road and vice versa. Besides, it is also showing
in the map that the places where Shehab travelled in the morning had higher speed per hour
where as he had to travel at a lower speed per hour to visit the same location during the other
time of the day. Though the sample size for this research is not big enough to draw a
conclusion but still it could be assumed from this data that Pathao riders usually travels at a
