Appendix A

Ramps

1. Minimum clear width of 1.20 m


2. Length of ramp shall not exceed 6 m
3. Level areas not less than 1.8 m in dimension
4. Handrails on both sides (0.7 – 0.9 m in height)

Handrails

1. 0.3 m long extension at the start and end of ramps


2. Dimension of 30 – 50 mm
3. Those attached to walls with a clearance of at least 50 mm

Entrances

1. Accessible
2. Ramps for elevated entrances
