Creation For IDB steps

Many information you must think about before you create IDB

What`s the required configuration?!

How many digital units and radio units needed for that conf?

What are the types of Radio units available?

Regarding that our digital unit in 2G (DUG 20) can carry up to 12 carriers and
RRUS 01 B8 carries up to 4 carriers and RRUS 02 B8 carries up to 8 carriers and
these RRUSs are used for 900 MHz band.. the same utilization for RRUSs 01&02 B3
but it for 1800 MHz band.

So, it`s clear that if we have a required configuration 4+4+4 we need only one DU
but if we need 4+4+5 we`ll need 2 DUs.

Now we`ll describe how to install an IDB through the common program OMT.

Let`s talk about conf 6+6+6 for ex.

As agreed from the above DU will carry only 12 carriers so we`ll need 2 DUs

1st one will carry sector 1 & 2

2nd 0ne will carry sector 3

First connect your cable to port LMT A of the DUG.

but 1st we need to be aware of the pin assignment for 2G cable .

RBS 6000 2G

serial RJ
5 1
3 2
2 3

Now we start our OMT prog and start to create our IDB
4. in the cabinet type box, select the cabinet type.
Standard  if we have 3 fan groups.

Extended  if we have 4 fan groups.

11. in the TMA box select one of the following

Yes if TMAs have been installed

No if TMAs have not been installed.

12. then click RE setup

13. then you can select the type of RRUS and required conf

Here this DU will carry 6+6

14. after that you press OK and confirm all these done steps

15.

16.

17. then you define the present RUs

Everything included in your IDB you put it in the present RUs.

18. then you connect to your RBS and bring it to local mode (full maintenance mode)

Make sure that the blue LED is on.

19. then you press on install IDB

A comparison between your HW and your IDB will be provided by the OMT and
through that comparison you will check that everything is OK . if there is anything
wrong OMT will give you info or warning about that.

20. you bring your RBS back to the remote mode (No maintenance mode)

21. please make sure that all RRUS in remote mode (no maintenance mode)

Now you almost finished but there are two important parameters that is highly
important mentioned

1st Defining the node parameters

the RBS must have only one master DU and the rest DUs must be defined as slave
and this definition is done through defining the node .

For the master DU its hub position must be B1

And then you add external nodes with the same no# of slave DUs.

Starting from A5.

For each of slaves you`ll provide its node parameter as following

Please make sure that each node EC bus connected to its port in the SHU as
configured in the IDB

Master  B1

Slave 0  A5
Slave 1 A6

Slave 2A7

And this photo is for connections of EC buses for RBS 6102

2nd Defining the transmission parameters

you must select STN equipment as SIU

And make the network topology  stand alone if it`s master as most of cases till
now. And it`s TEI value will be 62 by default.

If this cab will be groomed with another then you select its network topology as
cascade. And then define its TEI values to be 61.
Now let`s configure the RBS identity
These info will be founded printed on the cab itself.
