The TTI for an HSUPA service can be 2 ms or 10 ms. Different TTIs provide different benefits:
When the TTI is 2 ms, a higher throughput can be achieved. If SRB over HSUPA is used, the
theoretical uplink peak throughput can reach 5.74 Mbit/s over the Uu interface. If SRB over DCH is
used, the theoretical uplink peak throughput can reach 2.88 Mbit/s over the Uu interface. However,
when the TTI is 10 ms, the theoretical uplink peak throughput can only reach 2 Mbit/s over the Uu
interface.
When the TTI is 10 ms, interleaving brings more gains and less power is consumed. Therefore,
wider coverage can be achieved.
