The Makeup Morgue Assignment

The first requisite of a good makeup artist is a keen sense of observation and the ability to take what
you see through research and apply that to makeup designs and applications.

The creation of a makeup morgue- a collection of photographs, drawings, paintings, caricatures- is a

never ending process for the makeup designer. Having visual examples at your fingertips of skin
textures, face shapes, a wide range of facial types and features, and various hair styles makes designing
for a character quicker and more belivable. As you start and continue to practice makeup techniques
this collection of images serves as a resource for observations and as inspirations for the makeup
design.

Your morgue should contain pictures-in color-of human faces and heads, animals, images from nature,
artwork, and more.

You will be creating a digital makeup morgue in a PowerPoint and share it with me through canvas. You
will put no more than two pictures on one slide. For each category, you will have a separate title slide.
