The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) provides a common
language to describe functioning and disability. Of particular importance is the ICF’s holistic scope,
highlighting the functional domains of activities and participation and contextual factors ─ including
environmental and personal factors ─ which play key roles in social integration.

In this course, professionals with ample experience working on the ICF will provide an overview
of the ICF model and the newly developed ICF Core Sets for children and youth with cerebral
palsy. Practical clinical scenarios will be used to illustrate the clinical application of the ICF model
and the ICF Core Sets. Specifically, the clinical scenarios will demonstrate how to facilitate
interdisciplinary team communication, how to select appropriate measures that map to the content
of the ICF Core Sets, how to plan functional family-centered goals, and how to incorporate new
technologies and assistive devices to achieve optimal functioning.

At the beginning of the course, participants will answer a 10 multiple choice quiz to evaluate basic
knowledge. A brief case scenario will be posted each week; participants are expected to review
the case scenario before accessing the online presentation. The case scenario will be reviewed
during the online presentation of the week. At the end of the course, participants will complete a
10 multiple choice quiz to assess participants learning and address areas of future educational
modules. Following the full completion of this 3 week course, learners will earn 4 CME/CEU credits
and a certificate will be issued.

The AACPDM would like to thank these presenters for generously volunteering their time to present
this eCourse.
