ABSTRACT

The development of KUB chicken business can be spurred by the innovation of Artificial Insemination
(AI) technology with a maintenance pattern towards intensification. Lack of information regarding
the frequency of good shelter when making cement proper shelter while doing AI. The purpose of
this study was to determine the effect of the interaction frequency and age of chickens KUB shelter
against the cement characteristics include color, odor, consistency and mass movement and
interaction frequency and the age of the chicken KUB shelter against the volume, pH, concentration,
motility, viability and abnormalities. The method used in this study is an experimental method using
a randomized block design (RAK) factorial design factor A shelter frequency A1, A2 and A3, factor B1
and B2 B age animal and each consisting of three replications. The parameters measured were the
volume, smell, color, consistency, pH, mass movement, concentration, motility, viability,
abnormality. Based on these results it can be concluded that the frequency of the shelter with a
different age has no effect on either makrokopis semen characteristics and microscopic. however,
the frequency of storage has an effect on the concentration of spermatozoa, the more frequent the
collection of cement is, the lower the concentration.
