Course Description
This course is designed to introduce students/ participants to mind/ body practices to help reduce
stress. The focus of this course will be on understanding the basics of mindfulness, how it helps
reduce stress, and specific practices for daily use.
Course Prerequisites
None
Course Objectives
1. To learn the causes of stress.
2. To understand the various health risks associated with stress.
3. To understand the basics of mind/body practices.
4. To learn the major concepts of mindfulness.
5. To learn and understand the benefits of mindfulness.
6. To learn and understand specific mindfulness practices.
7. To feel confident in the ability to control stress through mindfulness practices.
