CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Theories of vocational choice describe a
process on vocational development during adolescence and young adult: Crystallization wherein basic interests as a source of ideas are identified; Specification in which has an interests in training of work; and Implementation wherein start entering the workforce about jobs.
There is Personality Type Theory
devised by John Holland and he identified six prototypic personalities such as: Realistic, Investigative, Social, Conventional, Enterprising, and Artistic wherein people are satisfied with a job when it matches their personality
PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT
Most adolescents in the United States
have part-time jobs. Adolescents who are employed more than 15 hours per week during the school year typically do poorly in school, often have lowered self-esteem and increased anxiety, and have problems interacting with others. Employed adolescents save relatively little of their income.
