2. What is work immersion for students?

Answer: Work Immersion is one of the course requirements for graduation which a Senior High
School student has to undergo in an industry that directly relates to the student’s
postsecondary goal. Through Work Immersion, the students are exposed to and become familiar
with work-related environment related to their field of specialization to enhance their competence.

3. What is the DepEd order on the guidelines for immersion?

Answer: DepEd Order No. 30, s. 2017

“Influence of Work Immersion in enhancing the students’ knowledge and skills”

Through Work Immersion, students develop employability, social, and independent living skills.
Educational institutions are expected to prepare students for employment or practice of
profession. It improves and builds new skills. Work Immersions will have students gain new skill
sets and improve their existing capabilities. It is also through immersion that students get to
discover themselves and jumpstart their professional growth. Work Immersion aims to expose
the students in the actual working environment and hone their competencies in the different
learning areas. Also, it helps in shaping their work ethics and values as they are expected to act
as professionals in their respective host training establishments. Students will also have the
opportunity to apply their learning experiences and in return will help them gather meaningful
experiences that will be of great help in the near future. Getting first hand experiences is not
just the aim of Work Immersion. It also aims to develop young professionals whose work ethics
and values are admirable and will serve as an epitome to future trainees like them. Work
Immersion teaches students the value of punctuality, good working relations, the importance of
information confidentiality, and professionalism inside the workplace. More than technical
learning, what students essentially learn is work values and ethics. Work  Immersion does not
just nurture globally competent individuals in term of skills and abilities, but it also produces
ethical young professionals who really value their work and show unwavering warmth, passion,
and commitment towards work.
