Concept Map
Description

Weather is the starting point of the concept map. As the arrows move out, the

weather topics become increasingly specific. The four main branches of weather are

precipitation, seasonal, danger, and air. Specific types of precipitation include rain,

hail, sleet, and snow. Snow and sleet occur during the winter, which is one of the

four seasons. The others include summer, spring, and fall. It is hot during the summer

and cold during the winter. Hot and cold are two of the specifications of air. Air can

also be warm, humid, and it can move. The movement of air is called wind.

Additionally, air can be measured using temperature. The three measurements of

temperature include Celsius, Fahrenheit, and kelvin. The movement of air, through

the production of tornados, may be dangerous. Other dangerous weather includes

floods and hurricanes. The entire concept map answers the guided question, “What is

weather?” The guided question, “What is one way to measure weather?” is answered

in the air category of the concept map. The map indicates that air can be measured

though temperature, and using Fahrenheit, Celsius and kelvin. The final guided

question, “How can we tell if it’s hot or cold?” is also answered in the air division.

The question is relative to the section that exhibits weather as hot and cold, as well

as the section about the measurement of air through temperature.
