For the edging: approx 160 meters of Himalaya Mercan (worsted), color 08
Hook: 4.0 mm
Measurements (after blocking): Length: approx 180 cm. Width: approx 29 cm
Width without edging: approx 22 cm
Gauge: rows 1-12 = 15 cm in length

* Crossed dc: Skip 1 st, 1 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the skipped st = 1 pair of crossed dc

** Puff: Yarn over, insert hook into st, pull the yarn through the st to approx the same height
as a dc. Repeat 4 times in total= 9 loops on the hook. YO, pull through all 9. Ch 1 to finish the
st (the chain doesn’t count as a stitch)

Notes
• The scarf is shaped like an elongated triangle. It’s worked lengthwise,
from tip to tip. Your work will increase by 1 st on every other row on the
first half of the scarf, and decrease by 1 st on every other row on the
second half. One row of crossed dc is worked at the middle of the scarf
• The edging may become slightly wavy, but will be flat after blocking

• Odd rows = right side, even rows = wrong side
• I recommend that you block your finished piece for best results

Row 1: ch 5, 3 tr in the first ch (4), ch 1, turn


Row 2: 4 sc (4), ch 3, turn
Row 3: 3 tr, 2 tr in the last st (5), ch 2, turn
Row 4: 5 hdc (5), ch 3, turn
Row 5: 4 tr, 2 tr in the last st (6), ch 1, turn
Row 6: 6 sc (6), ch 3, turn
Row 7: 5 tr, 2 tr in the last st (7), ch 2, turn
Row 8: 7 hdc (7), ch 3, turn

Row 9: 1 tr in each st until there is 1 st left on the row, 2 tr in the last st, ch 1,

Row 17: 1 tr in each st until there are 2 st left on the row, tr2tog over the last
2 st, ch 2, turn
Row 18: 1 hdc in each st across, ch 3, turn
Row 19: 1 tr in each st until there are 2 st left on the row, tr2tog over the last
2 st, ch 1, turn
Row 20: 1 sc in each st across, ch 3, turn

Repeat rows 17-20 until there are 4 st left on the row. Omit turning chains on
the last row

Row 21: The first tr is replaced by ch 4. tr4tog (1)

Edging
• Work across the bottom edge of the scarf
• Start on the wrong side
• Turn your work after each row

Row 1: Attach yarn with a sl st to the tip, *ch 5, skip the row of tr, 1 sl st in
the next row*. Repeat *-* up until the row of crossed dc, ch 6, skip the row
of crossed dc, 1 sl st in the next row. Repeat *-* across. Work the last sl st in
the tip

Row 2: ch 1, sl st in ch sp, ch 4 (=1 dc+ch 1), [1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc] in


ch sp, *[1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc] in the next ch sp*. Repeat *-*
up until the ch-6 sp, [1 tr, ch 1, 1 tr, ch 1, 1 tr, ch 1, 1 tr] in ch-6 sp. Repeat
*-* to end of row
Row 3: ch 1, *1 sc in the 1st dc, ch 1, 1 dc in the 2nd dc, ch 1, 1 dc in the 3rd
dc, ch 1, 1 sc in the 4th dc*. Repeat *-* up until the first tr, 1 sc in the 1st tr,
