Warming Up

to bed. Arrange the pictures in the right
order to make a story. Write 1, 2, 3 and 4
in the boxes. Do this on your paper.

_______________ _______________ ________________ ________________

Nice try! To check your answers go

to answer key on the page .If you got 3
or 4 correct answer, excellent! If scored
2 and below, don’t worry, you learn
more as we go on.

Learning About It

To learn more about sequencing

the events, listen carefully to a story
“The Crow and the Pitcher”.
Ask your mother, father, guardian
or any family member to read to you
the story and the questions.

2
The Crow and the Pitcher

A thirsty crow saw a pitcher of water. He put his

beak into the pitcher, but he couldn’t reach for the
water because there was very little left in the pitcher.
He tried to get the water but failed. He stopped for a
while and started to think. Finally, he saw some
pebbles. He dropped one pebble after another until
the water in the pitcher rose higher and higher. At last
he got a good drink of the water.

Ask your child these questions.

1. Was the crow able to drink the little water left in the
pitcher?
2. Why did the crow want to drink?
3. What did the crow do with the pebbles?
4. What do you think will happen if there were no
pebbles?
5. Where do you think is the setting of the story?
6. What word best describes the crow?
7. If you were the crow what would you do? Will you do
the same?
8. What do you think will the crow do next?

When reading a story, it is helpful to

note the important events in the order that
they happened. This will help us in
understanding the story better. You may use
the word first for what happened in the
beginning, next for what happened in the
middle and last for the ending.

3
Keeping You in Practice

Are you ready for another set of

adventure? Do the following activities on
your own paper:

happen next? Draw your answer in the empty

5
Points to Ponder

Remember sequencing is the order of

events in a story. Stories have a beginning,
middle and an end. Use the words first, next,
and then, last to denote sequences. This will
help you understand what you are reading.

Congratulations!
You finally finished all the activities in this
module. We hope that you had fun while learning
after doing the task given. See you in the next
module. Thank you and have a great day!
