Disturbing Verses

Please read this knowing that I could include more topics/verses. One will need a book to cover
all of this and I hardly touched the New Testament on these disturbing verses. It is just a start.
We can’t also can’t give an excuse and say that these were the times people were living in as I
know very wise books way older than the bible which don’t condone war and murder and
anything inhumane e.g The Tao te Ching, a very wise ancient Asian book.
I have quoted mostly stories so that someone doesn’t think it’s taken out of context and honestly
context doesn’t matter here, in what context is such acts right? This looks more like an evil being
and definitely not someone wise. What are we honestly teaching our children here when we ask
them to read such troubling things? Is this truly coming from a wise and omnipotent God? If we
were to remove holy from the Bible and all the threats of questioning it, would people be seeing
this book as an inspiration from God?
It all starts messed up in Genesis. Adam and Eve, the first 2 people on Earth had two sons, Cain
and Abel. Cain then killed Abel and got married. But married to who? Since they were the only
people on Earth at that time. With this in mind, let’s go on.

Unjust Murder (Too too many verses on unjust murder by God, this is just a
sample)
(Exodus 31:12-15 NLT)- Kill People for Working on the Sabbath
(2 Kings 2:23-24 NAB) – God Kills children for calling Elisha ‘Bald’
(1 Kings 20:35-36 NLT) – A silly killing for a silly reason – God kills someone for trying to save
the holy Arc.
(2 Samuel 6:3-7 NAB) - Killing the Good Samaritan
(Exodus 32:26-29 NLT) – God Blesses for killing your own neighbors
(Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT) – Killing entire town if someone worships another God.
Remember a lot of innocent people die because “someone” decides to worship another God. Yet
God says forgive but himself is not forgiving and goes on a rampage.
(Deuteronomy  22:20-21 ) - Kill Women Who Are Not Virgins On Their Wedding Night.
(Numbers 1:48-51 NLT) – Kill Anyone who Approaches the Tabernacle

Bible supporting Slavery (many more as well, just a sample)

(Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT) – Slaves sold as livestock.

(Exodus 21:7-11 NLT) – Sex slavery – unjust treatment of a human being
(Ephesians 6:5 NLT) – Slaves, obey your masters

Rape seems not a big deal (Plus many more, just a sample)
(Judges 21:10-24 NLT) - Murder, rape, and pillage at Jabesh-gilead
(Numbers 31:7-18 NLT) - Murder, rape and pillage of the Midianites
(Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NAB) – Stupid law of rape
(Deuteronomy 21:10-14 NAB) - Rape of Female Captives

Explicit content (Non children stuff) – Written pornography

Ezekiel 23:20 and a lot of stuff from Songs of Solomon etc

Hard to believe concepts from Bible

Then there are concepts which I find really a struggle to gel with as they seem to defy natural
laws. I am not saying miracles don’t exist as what the hell do we know about this life? Our
knowledge is limited but some things are just too much and seem to blur the line of fantasy or
reality. Some of the below might be metaphors but who decides when something is a metaphor
or real? E.g.

 Talking Snakes
 Talking Donkeys
 A stick turns into a snake
 Sun stood sill to help Joshua win a battle
 Feeding a huge crowd with little bread and fish
 A detached and floating hand wrote on a wall
 Demons sent into pigs
 Walking on water
 Turning water into wine
 A flood, which killed every being on earth save for some species which were all fitted
onto a boat. But how can you really fit millions of species in a boat?
 Food rained from the sky for 40 years
 A fiery place with unending torment awaits non-believers (In my mind, this is a
psychological thing to make people not question the Bible)
 World created in 6 days
 Jesus varnished and materialized from thin air
 Nile river turns into blood, we can go on and on
 The sick were healed just by touching the shadow of Peter
 Believers shall judge angels after they die, we can go on and on
History of the Bible and how it came to being.
This is one topic I once read a lot and would like to discuss more in the future. History is always
subjective and no one can really know how things exactly happened in the past so it’s a topic one
can never be fully certain of. But what is seemed to be quite agreed upon is:

 This bible was compiled as a creation by the Catholic Church. Some books were voted for
and some removed. Knowing the evil history of the Catholic church, it makes me wonder
why they really did this. Even the story of Jesus is incomplete, we see him as a young
boy, then there is a gap in between then we later seem him around his 30s close to
crucifixion. What happened between the ages of say 13 to 30. Where was he, what was he
doing?

 Council of Nicea where Jesus was created and many other major things happened.

 Christianity was then used as one of the tools to conquer nations (including Africa) and
subject people to slavery, to torture and poverty. They say they took our lands and gave
us the bible told us Jesus is going to come back and sort everything out for you. And that
when you die you will have a beautiful place ready for you and blessed are the poor. But I
want to be happy now as absolutely no one knows what happens at death. How do you
even know you are dead except for those whom you leave behind?

 Also another important detail that folks don’t really know about is how a lot of the
books/stories/concepts in the Bible are actually stolen African stories. E.g. the 10
commandments is actually stolen from a very old Egyptian book called the Book of the
Dead. Even the book of Proverbs has a lot of parallels with way older written ancient
African Proverbs. So the good parts in the Bible are mostly of African origin. Africans
(and other nations as well) had their own systems which were infinitely better than
Christianity, of oneness and respect for nature. Of course not all of the systems were
great but we always been highly spiritual people and never needed any imported
religions.

Contradictions
They say God is not the author of confusion yet the bible is filled with inconsistencies
everywhere. It would take me too much time to include everything so I found a link with a lot of
these for your own checking when you have time.

Psychological aspects of Religion

To be fully discussed in the future. Another topic I went deep with, not only religion but also the
schooling system, corporate system, political system and medical systems which teach us not to
think for ourselves but always refer to authority and not question it. They all fundamentally
operate in the same way if you think a bit about it.

Conclusion
The content in the Bible to me doesn’t seem right. A combination of some wise words and a lot
of evil and unwise verses. No consistency at all and a lot of contradictory verses.
The legitimacy of it being the Word of God - to me this can’t be God, it is definitely men.
Language is also limited for anyone to show the wonders of creation, a wise God would know
this. It is like trying to show how a particular piece of music sounds via words, impossible. Only
by hearing the music you get to know how wonderful the song is. To me nature is the Word of
God, to love yourself and others is God, being your best is God, the rest is noise. Even Jesus was
not a Christian and walked his own path. There is not a single word coming from Jesus but all is
hearsay from those who supposedly were with him.
So I am not much of a believer in anything, I just try to live life the best way I can with a respect
for every human being and nature. Nature is my source of inspiration, I am not an atheist,
Buddhist, Muslim or anything as I don’t like to be locked into any particular system. I do know
there are things which I don’t understand and will never be arrogant to say I know the truth or
have the truth. We are all learning ultimately and will never stop as long as I am living.

I will quote 2 supposed verses of Jesus from an omitted book called the Gospel of Thomas as
final words.

Jesus said, "If those who lead you say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in the sky,' then the
birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will
precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you
come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you
who are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in
poverty and it is you who are that poverty."

His disciples said to him, "When will the kingdom come?"

<Jesus said,> "It will not come by waiting for it. It will not be a matter of saying 'here it
is' or 'there it is.' Rather, the kingdom of the father is spread out upon the earth, and men
do not see it."
