Aggregates

Coarse aggregate for concrete is crushed blue basalt stones. They are clean and rougly
cubical in shape, non-porous, free from decomposed stone, dust, clay, earthy matter, foreign
substances or friable, thin, elongated or laminated pieces. Fine aggregate is washed crushed
rock sand having a percentage of fines passing 63 microns of less than 10%. The aggregates
produced are in accordance with BS 882. Samples of aggregates are also sent to external
laboratories such as Labolink & MSB twice per year.

Aggregates produced by our stone crushing plants are subject to the following tests carried
out in our internal laboratory.
