found some rice seedlings. Who will help me plant them?

Answered Mother Hen and she went off to the fields and did.
When it was time to harvest the rice, Mother Hen needed help again. So, once more, she asked her
friends.
“Who will help me harvest the rice?”
“Not I,” said the pig. “Not I,” said the dog. “Not I, said the cat. “ Okay. I’ll do it by myself,” Mother
hen answered and she did. When it was time to bring the rice to the mill, Mother Hen asked the three animals
again. “Who will help me bring the rice to the mill?”
“Not I,” said the pig. “Not I,” said the dog. “Not I, said the cat. “”Okay. I’ll do them by myself,”
Mother Hen answered and she did.
Then, Mother Hen wanted to cook some rice cakes. Once again, she asked them. “Who will help me
cook some rice cakes?” “Not I,” said the pig. “Not I,” said the dog. “Not I, said the cat. “ “Okay, I’ll cook them
by myself,” Mother Hen answered and she did.
When the rice cakes were cooked, the pig, the dog, and the cat appeared at her window because they
smelled the delicious rice cakes. Mother Hen saw them and asked, “Now the rice cakes are cooked. Who will
help me eat them?
“I will,” said the pig. “I will,” said the dog. “I will,” said the cat.
“Oh, no you won’t!” exclaimed Mother Hen. “You did not help me when I needed help, and now you
want to enjoy eating the rice cakes. You three lazy and selfish. I will eat the rice cakes with my chicks and
enjoy them.” And so Mother hen and her chicks did.

A Scary Surprise
A goat loaded small bars of soap into an empty can of oats. A hungry toad saw the can. He ate
the bars of soap inside it. The toad then started to croak. Bubbles came out of his throat. The goat saw

Trees are our friends. They give us shade. They protect us from the rain and the sun. Many
trees give us fruits to eat. Some of them are mango, santol, and durian. Others are caimito, mabolo,
duhat, and chico. These fruits taste good. They make us healthy and strong, too. Some trees have
pretty flowers. They come in many colors-red, white, yellow, and violet.
Trees give us wood. Wood can be made into chairs, tables, desks, and cabinets. Wood is all
around us. We find it at home, in school, in the playground, and in the church. Let us plant trees.
Wood from trees gives us many things.
