III. READING AND WRITING: Read the following text and develop the activities below.

A Jungle Trip!

Last year, I went to Guatemala with my mom and dad. Guatemala is a country in Central America.
We flew there from Mexico. The plane was old and very small. I was a little scared. We rented a jeep
at the airport and drove to the old Mayan city of Tikal. Tikal is in the jungle. During the day, we
walked around the old city. Then in the early evening, we climbed to the top of the highest pyramid
and watched the sunset. We could hear all the animals in the jungle. They made a lot of noise,
especially the monkeys, so I was very happy. That night, we slept in a tent, I imagined there were
jaguars, monkeys, and snakes outside, and so I didn’t sleep very well. When I woke up, I saw a big
spider at the top of the tent. That was the worst part of the trip.
