The Week of Prayer for Christian
Unity takes place from 18th – 25th
January.
Abide in my love & you shall bear
much fruit (John’s Gospel 15:5-9)
This year the theme for the week of
Prayer for Christian Unity was chosen
by the Community of Grandchamp,
Switzerland. It expresses the
reconciliation & unity in the church &
monastic community which brings
together sisters from different
Today the community has 50 sisters,
all women from different generations,
continents. In their diversity the
sisters are a living parable of
communion. They remain faithful to a
life of prayer, life in community & the
welcoming of guests. The sisters
share the grace of their monastic life
with visitors & volunteers who go to
Grandchamp for a time of retreat,
silence, healing or in search of

ROAD CLOSURE
Laois County Council have announced that
the Ballymorris Road will be closed until
February 16th 2021. It will be closed from
Ballymorris Road Railway Bridge to the
Canal Road. This is to facilitate the
installation of traffic lights, footpaths
and public lighting.
PORTARLINGTON CREDIT UNION
New temporary changes due to current
restrictions.
The Office will close each day at 4pm and
between 1-2pm. Staff will be available to
take phone calls and on-line queries up to
5.30 each day. Maximum number allowed
in our public area will be 4. All others must
queue outside the office. We encourage

of Kildare & Leighlin which traces
its origins to Brigid, Conleth
and Laserian.
May it be outstanding in charity as
St. Brigid of Kildare, may it be
constant in faith as St. Conleth of
Old Connell, wise and prayerful as
St. Laserian of Leighlin. Bless its
Bishop, priests, deacons, religious
and laity. Fill them with the light of
your love. Bless its young people.
