Put your collection into a large container and have some free exploration time, talking about the items as you touch them. Pick all the acorns out of the bin and make a pile on the floor. Explain that you are going to pretend to be squirrels and take it in turns to hide the acorns in different places in the sensory bin. The other person then pretends to be a squirrel looking for their acorns and looks in all the possible places for them. You may want to hide them under the leaves, or bury them in the ground — under the grass clippings, under the trees (pretend the twigs are trees).
