Climate change

refers to any significant change in the measures of climate lasting for

an extended period of time. In other words, climate change includes major changes in
temperature, precipitation, or wind patterns, among other effects, that occur over
several decades or longer.

Why climate change is important

Studying the climate helps us predict how much rain the next winter might bring,
or how far sea levels will rise due to warmer sea temperatures. ... We can also see
which regions are most likely to be affected by extreme weather, or which wildlife
species are threatened by climate change.
The evidence is clear: the main cause of climate change is burning fossil fuels such as
oil, gas, and coal. When burnt, fossil fuels release carbon dioxide into the
air, causing the planet to heat up.

what are the effects of climate change

More frequent and intense drought, storms, heat waves, rising sea levels, melting
glaciers and warming oceans can directly harm animals, destroy the places they live,
and wreak havoc on people's livelihoods and communities. As climate
change worsens, dangerous weather events are becoming more frequent or severe.
While everyone around the world feels the effects of climate change, the most
vulnerable are people living in the world's poorest countries — like Haiti and Timor-
Leste — and the world's 2.5 billion smallholder farmers, herders and fisheries who
depend on the climate and natural resources for food and income.
How does it contribute to climate change?

Some of the main human activities that contribute to global warming are: increasing
atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases, for a warming effect. global
changes to land surface, such as deforestation, for a warming effect. increasing
atmospheric concentrations of aerosols, mainly for a cooling effect.

What are the effects of climate change in our economy?

climate change would increase income inequalities between and within countries. a
small increase in global mean temperature (up to 2 °C, measured against 1990 levels)
would result in net negative market sector in many developing countries and net positive
market sector impacts in many developed countries.

What are the three impacts of climate change?

Increased heat, drought and insect outbreaks, all linked to climate change, have
increased wildfires. Declining water supplies, reduced agricultural yields,
health impacts in cities due to heat, and flooding and erosion in coastal areas are
additional concerns.

What can we do to stop climate change essay?

Firstly, we must stop deforestation in all forms. Do not cut down more trees as it will
only worsen the level of carbon dioxide in the air. Instead, encourage people to plant
even more trees to create a fine balance in nature. Moreover, it reduces the usage of
energy everywhere.
