Peer Teaching Plan in Literature


Introduction
Literature can not only be used to develop moral values but some really important life
skills that will help us in our daily life. Teaching literature is a remarkable job. It expands your
language awareness and be able to understand diversities. It is necessary that the students’
study about literature because it educates us holistically. Be an upright person and respected
individual.
Factors in Selecting Reading Materials
 Students’ Level
My target students’ level would be secondary level. Students can comprehend and
understand the text clearly.

 Students’ Interest
Students in secondary level must be aware of what’s happening in our society. Since
they are in the right age, they must know their responsibility and power to make a
difference.
 Students’ Needs
As a student myself, I want to make this place a better place to live in. Students must
always seek for improvement for themselves if they want to success.

 Students Background Knowledge


It is important to have a background knowledge on students before proceeding to an
actual lecture. It’s a way to connect to students and know their strength and
weaknesses to assess them properly.

 Relevance
The selection of text should be appropriate in real life context. It is important that the
text has a connection to the students to catch their attention and for them to
understand better. They can also make use of it to face challenges in life.
End Goal:

What is an educated Filipino is a timeless essay that tackles the new and modified
definition of an Educated Filipino. It does not merely discuss what an educated Filipino is, it
entices Filipino readers to change their and act upon it. It also stresses on the idea of knowing
one’s race and culture and possess good moral values aside from his or her knowledge
gathered in school.
Approach: Moral Philosophical Approach
This approach will help students to broaden their understanding in values. In this way,
students will appreciate the importance of being educated and can spread awareness to
everyone. It is easy to study the literature if students can relate to it so that they can enjoy
learning and can put some input to make it productive.
