What This Module is About
Welcome your journey as Beauty Care (Nail Care) Services!
The Beauty Care Nail Care qualification consists of competencies that a person must
achieve to perform in enhancing of someone’s personal beauty, such as performing
manicure and pedicure, performing hand spa and performing foot spa.

The basic concepts in Beauty Care Nail Care Is recommendation for maintaining nail
health include keeping nails clean and dry to keep bacteria and other infectious organisms
from collecting under the nails, cutting nails straight across with only slight rounding at the
tip. Using a fine-textured file to keep nails shaped and free of snags and avoiding nail biting.
It is a good idea to soak toenails that are thick and difficult to cut in a warm salt water (1 tsp.
salt to 1 pint of water) for 5 to 10 minutes. And apply a 10 percent urea cream (available at
drugstores, without prescription) before trimming. One should not “dig out” ingrown toenails,
especially if they are sore; instead, a physician should provide treatment. Nail changes,
swelling, and pain can signal serious problems that should be reported to a physician.

There is a big relevance of this course- Beauty Care Nail Care. The good
maintenance of fingernails and toenails is important for health as well as cosmetic reasons.
Good nail care can prevent fungus infections of the nail, painful ingrown fingernails and
toenails and infections of the skin in the hands and feet.

Job opportunities await you in Beauty Care Nail Care Services as a career here and
abroad in nail salons, beauty parlors, self-employment and other business settings. To
become a nail technician, a formal training program offered in a school is required.
